Pretty sure it was around 2006 or so and Hamas was voted in. Palestine isn't the US - we can have a fundamentalist/whacko in power and we can vote him out in 4 years, even if he doesn't want to and encourages his followers to intervene, because we have 200+ years of relatively civil handover of power and a large military that doesn't go along with such efforts to remain in power.

I knew the left had run with what Trump had said about Hezbollah. I didn’t point that out and say it was Hezbollah not Hamas because I wasn’t sure if he’d subsequently said the same thing about Hamas, and if I had said ‘wrong’ then I woukd have had the ‘no, you’re wrong’ with a linky along with laughing and dunce emojis thrown back at me.

That’s why I criticized leadership on BOTH sides. I’m not an expert on this but don’t Jews also have a historical connection to the land? And there’s certainly more than just Ashkenazi Jews there.
