OH yeah, that's a dumb move. Agree with CID, clear case of witness tampering. He should be appropriately reprimanded.

I’d throw his ass in front of a judge

Not sure it can be done though..

I’m sure there’s some rule that protects elected asshats at the national level

The problem for conservatives is that people who call themselves "moderate" really tend to lean Liberal. For example if you look at the latest YouGov poll at https://d25d2506sfb94s.cloudfront.net/c ... Report.pdf 57% of respondents who call themselves "moderate" disapprove of Trump vs. 37% who approve. If you go back to 2016 election polling results Clinton won among people who called themselves "moderate" by 52% to 40%.
The real problem is those who view themselves as “moderate” are really pretty fucking far left. They don’t “lean” liberal, they’ve got both fee firmly planted in socialism and it’s more radical ideas....Harris, Warren, Booker, etc., etc. all would self identify as “moderate”....they clearly are NOT.

Don’t believe it? Check out these polls.

Few Americans call themselves “progressive,” or think they share similar views with citizens of social democracies like Canada, Denmark, and Germany. But on most major issues, Americans lean left. Although Trump, the corporate plutocracy, and the so-called alt-right may think otherwise, the United States is a more decent and democratic society than we give it credit for.

Some days I am pretty liberal in applying my distrust and general lack of empathy for stupid people and their actions to all the people I may meet. :coffee:

Yes. And I think most of those positions support my assertion.

58% think it's the government's responsibility to ensure we all have healthcare?
59% think there's some right that whites have that blacks don't? Please, please tell me what that right is....
63% believe our economic system favors powerful interests? Hello? SOCIALISM???
61% think abortion should be legal in all/most cases? Real "moderate" there...
51% think people are poor because of circumstances beyond their control? Oh, woe is me....
Only 40% approved of Trump's tax law, despite the fact it helped the vast majority of Americans keep more of their paycheck?

Here's a newsflash: Socialism IS NOT a "moderate" position. Try again, klammy.

I think a stigma has been attached to the term "liberal." As a result I think there are a lot of people who really are "liberal" but instead call themselves "moderate." When it comes right down to it I think the distribution of public opinion, for better or for worse, favors liberalism. And I think the evolution is such that things are moving farther in that direction as time goes on.

Judge orders Texas not to purge voters after botching list

https://www.chron.com/news/texas/articl ... 649806.php

Saying there is no evidence of widespread election fraud in Texas, a federal judge Wednesday blocked the removal of any registered voter after state Republican leaders loudly but wrongly questioned the U.S. citizenship of tens of thousands of people.

The decision by U.S. District Judge Fred Biery of San Antonio temporarily halts a bungled search for illegal voters in Texas, which began in January with the release of a deeply flawed list of 98,000 voters who were flagged as possibly not being citizens. Those names were immediately referred to prosecutors , and Republican Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton amplified the announcement as a "VOTER FRAUD ALERT."

The country was founded on liberal ideals. Some of those have naturally evolved along with civilization and culture.

To me, the word still means open mindedness and freedom. Hence college campuses can be illiberal while libertarian policies can be liberal.
