If the current administration does not improve, I would think that the GOP could win with ANYBODY if the Donkey nominee is Obama. Palin would be a lock in that case. Unfortunately for Palin, I foresee Obama becoming the first sitting President in AGES to lose his own party's nomination, and if that happens, it'll be Hillary. If Hillary's the Democratic nominee, I'm afraid that NOBODY on the GOP side can take the White House, even Sarah. NOW will back Hillary over Sarah in a heartbeat, and that will be enough to swing the election.

Very obvious to me that Sarah Palin is doing what she thinks she must to put her in position for 2012. No doubt about that.

Question is, will the GOP actually nominate a dumber candidate than they did in 2000?

They might, but thanks to the Citizens United case, I'm guessing it would now have more to do with who large corporations (including foreign held companies) would like to see in the oval office. Somebody inexperienced, easy to manipulate, like Obama - another place holder president...

Hillary said she wasn't running, I doubt Biden would challenge Obama, and I heard somewhere that Ron Paul might not run in 2012 (I think that's just a rumor)

At this point I don't think I could vote for anybody on the field...I like Paul (as it has already been alluded to) but he doesn't seem presidential and neither does any other Republican or Libertarian. I would have voted for Sanford but we all know that's not happening

I don't agree with that at all. I don't think Hillary is electable, the GOP base will be fired up against her and she won't get enough of the independent vote.
Also, I don't think Palin can beat anyone the Dems nominate. Obama will likely be one of her biggest supporters as the next election approaches since she is likely one of the few Republicans he is sure to beat.

So Hillary cant win and Palin cant beat anyone the dems nominate? so if its Clinton vs Palin, Ralph Nader will finally win?
