You're telling me there isn't partisan politics at play right now? It's absolute gridlock. Are the elected officials representing their constituents?Benne wrote:Really? You had no say in who you sent to Washington? I find it hard to believe you have been disenfranchised.SeattleGriz wrote:
You do know the Tea Party Movement has been slapping Republicans as well? It is not an anti-Democratic movement, as much as it is that Americans are tired of being taxed without representation.
I know that phrase was coined after the original Boston Tea Party, but it's statement ring true in this instance.
76% of Americans want healthcare reform, we just don't want the current Congress deciding what that is. They are beholden to special interests and getting reelected.
I would say that is being taxed without being represented.

Not at all. I know it has been happening forever. It's just at this point, our economy is hurting enough to finally force people to give a shit.houndawg wrote:SeattleGriz wrote:

You think this is something new?!
Just wait, you ain't seen nothing yet.
I know that pretty much all the undecideds that choose who our President will be know virtually nothing about the candidate, other than some smooth videos and who they would rather drink a beer with.
I, for one, am happy America is waking up and paying attention to what our elected officials are up to.
