They're still asking about birth certificates - LOL
Re: They're still asking about birth certificates - LOL
I'm still waiting for Obama's multiple SSN #'s to catch some traction. Been a few months, nothing yet.

Dude. You're spoiling the fun.GSUhooligan wrote:The point is moot either way. His mother was a U.S. citizen, living in the US for at least 10 years, 5 of which after her 14th birthday. BHO could have been born in a remote village in Nepal, and he would still be considered a U.S. citizen.

Not to defend teabaggers and birthers... but, the Constitution says the President must be a "natural born citizen."GSUhooligan wrote:The point is moot either way. Does "natural born" mean born in the U.S. or a citizen at birth?Skjellyfetti wrote:Not to defend teabaggers and birthers... but, the Constitution says the President must be a "natural born citizen."GSUhooligan wrote:The point is moot either way. I'm guessing citizen considering McCain was born abroad... though under a US controlled area.

I believe it's citizen at birth...John McCain was not born in the United States...he was born at a military hospital overseas...GSUhooligan wrote:Does "natural born" mean born in the U.S. or a citizen at birth?Skjellyfetti wrote:

Supreme Court hasn't ruled on it much. But, natural born citizen means born on US soil. John McCain's situation is a little hazy since he was born in Panama on a military base... but, I think it would be fine Constitutionally since the military base is US soil (though I'm not an expert).
If Obama was born in Kenya, even though he'd be a US citizen... he wouldn't be eligible to be President.
Having said that.............. there's no fucking evidence that he was born in Kenya. There's overwhelming evidence that he was born in Hawaii. You have to take an enormous leap of faith or just be a bit fucking crazy to believe that he was born in Kenya.

I think you're right. I remember during the election there was some talk about McCain's eligibility as well and I remember reading that there really isn't any established law on the subject.Skjellyfetti wrote:Supreme Court hasn't ruled on it much. His mom was a hippy type, that probably didn't wash her snatch. I'm sure there was some US soil around wherever he was born.Skjellyfetti wrote:Supreme Court hasn't ruled on it much.
