I wonder how many more would have died in Central America without US involvement. The Russians and Cubans weren't supplying Danny Ortega and the Sandanistas with paintball guns. It was the Cold War. War by proxy was the norm. Blood was spilled. Hands got dirty. We won. End of story.
The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants."

AH..!!!
Not so fast - if 70,000 American citizens died (like El Salvadorians) would it be considered a war..?
50,000 American soldiers died in Vietnam and it wasn't a war

To most Republicans it's not a war if we didn't NUKE a half a million civilians

The ironic thing in all of this is that if America was completely isolationist over the last 50 years, guys like Chizz and the activist left would be the first ones to be uptight about our refusal to get involved in anything.

Exhibit A: Darfur.

Nope...
you're conjecture is incorrect when applied to me

first I'm not suggesting "Isolationism" at all - there's a HUGE gap between war mongering and World Policing and isolationism - and -I am keenly aware of the military "trick" of calling any non-reaction Isolationism

Secondly: I could care less about Darfur

Sometimes there is strife in the world and there's nothing that can easily be done about it...
