One issue with the proposed bailout or bankruptcy. They need to shit or get off the pot. I've been thinking about getting a GMC truck but I'm not buying until I know what is going to happen. I don't want to buy a new truck and get screwed out of a warranty when GM files for bankruptcy.

And I can't believe I'm the only one thinking like this which has got to be depressing sales further.

The auto industry, an inexorable part of the military-industrial complex and long aligned with Conk war hawk capitalist fukks, has got to, like the Rushpublicans in the 2008 general election, take its lumps, learn from its shortsightedeness and try to reemerge a stronger entity.

Frankly, I don't see it happening to either institution.

You did....and laying people off sucks as it is not entirely their fault for losing their job.....but blaming the buying habits of the American public is the kind of rationalization that has kept the auto industry in the shitter...more to blae is flooding the market with models that don't sell and negotiaing crap contracts with union help....the auto industry isn't hurting, just the American auto makers....it's a market adjustment....but a painful market adjustment....
