Better in what way? Why do posters here have such a tough time with analogies?

Whether you think Pakistan is an ally, they certainly like to portray themselves as one. IF they go through with selling/giving the copter parts to the Chinese, they are making their own beds.

C'mon, 89, Pakistan wants money and they'll get in bed with whomever tosses it to them. India is Pakistan's main "enemy", and the people/government of Pakistan don't care if we help them or if China helps them.

What are we going to do if the Pakistanis sell the helicopter parts to the Chinese...abandon them?

All this time we've been saying Pakistan is one of, if not the, most important cogs in the war against terror and that they needed our support in order for the "moderate good guys" to maintain order and control of their country so that nukes don't fall into bad guy's hands. Imagine that....we either need to continue sending the clowns billions...OR...we didn't need to send them billions in the first place.

Somebody has some explaining to do.

Pakistani children are running around with little pieces of our secret technology. Just a scrap from each section can show the Chinese the building blocks for our stealth materials and parts. Pictures and measurements of the wreckage will help complete the package. Pakistan can return 95% of our helicopter for a price and then sell the other 5% to the Chinese. We'll never know if they gave us everything back.

The Pakistanis win this battle. That's just a cost of doing business with scumbags.

* The Chinese paid Serbian farmers for parts of a downed F117 Stealth fighter in 1999, then develop their new J20 stealth fighter.

* The Chinese collide with a US EP-3 surveillance plane in 2001, force it to land on Hainan Island, then keep the plane until they're finished getting whatever they can from it.

Yep, they'll get some helicopter parts - they aren't terribly innovative, but they're pretty good copycats.

In 8 or 10 years we will be able to buy them from the Chinks for pennies on today's helicopter dollar.

they'll be available at Wal-Mart, covered in lead paint and with all the metal parts stripped out and replaced with plastic... but on the plus side, it'll retail for 149.97

As I said on another site, I don't get how people just think that they should hand over that helicopter.

If Mexico covertly violated our airspace and sent warbirds and troops into a compound 100 miles from Washington, shot a few people, then took one away for burial at sea, how would you, as an American, feel about giving Mexico back one of its toys?
Mexico doesn't give the US 3 billion dollars in aid. Neither does Pakistan.

Another, "You owe us because we bought you so that should let us do anything we want in your country and you can't be mad about it or keep anything of our wreckage even though we unilaterally launched an attack near your capital" point of view.

Brilliant.

Hey, next time your mother-in-law says she can unilaterally replace your shower curtains because she gave you some money, I'm sure you won't mind.

Yup. I'm with Cluck on this one. Anyone paying attention knew that there was a lot of evidence that they (and especially ISI) were hiding and harboring terrorists.

I got blasted for saying Pakistan was fighting for the other team and we should do something about it two years ago.

Hey, Pakistan...we killed Osama and now you get to pay with your blood. But can we have our helicopter back?

"Pakistani officials say two bomb blasts at a training center for local security forces in the country’s northwest have killed at least 80 people and wounded scores of others. TRhe Pakistani Taliban claim the attack is to avenge the killing of Osama bin Laden.

Local police say two suicide bombers used at least one motorcycle packed with explosives in an early morning attack in the town of Charsadda. The bombers detonated outside a regional base for Pakistan’s Frontier Constabulary, a security force that receives U.S. funds to combat extremists near the Afghan-Pakistan border.

Most of the victims were cadets from the training base who were boarding buses to return home on leave."

Agreed. These guys are classic at playing both ends against the middle. As I understand what I have read of the Qu'ran, lying to infidels (us and the Chinese) to strengthen themselves is encouraged in their religious and moral system. We need to understand their paradigms.

WE GOTTA' DO SOMETHING. ANYTHING! WHY ISN'T ANYONE DOING ANYTHING BESIDES ME?

We were doing something...we were giving them billions. We do it all the time. Check out the money we give to Saudi Arabia...they'd cut our throats in a minute if it suited them.

Time for some more WikiLeaks.

Well, the US giving Pakistan 3.5 billion a yr in aid in a country with a GDP of about 175 billion is about 2% of their GDP.

That would be the same as Mexico giving the US annually about 300 billion dollars, 2% of an about 15 trillion GDP.

If a wealthy Mexcio was giving a 3rd World shithole US 2% of GDP a yr in aid and the US had hiding in their midst a terrorist who killed 3000 Mexicans, and the Mexicans violated our sovereignty to kill him, no Americans were killed, but Mexico lost a top secret chopper in the process, then the US certainly shouldn't refuse to return one of their toys, considering the US was sucking off the Mexican tit to the tune of 2% of their GDP and was risking losing that if the US didn't return the Mexican chopper.

Cluck that is why people just think that they should hand over that helicopter.
