Totally believable
I'm not ignoring the "bigger picture" - just don't think I have any reason to defend people that elect morons on both sides for Congress. What's your point? She was fawned over back in the Summer of 2008 when basically no one outside of Alaska knew much about her. Most didn't know when she gave her acceptance speech that she was in over her head like a hot sorority chick at a college Jeopardy tryout.Skjellyfetti wrote:Again, when Palin became the VP nominee... Are you trying to say ignorant women can only rise in government if they are Republican?
You realize SJL served on a House science subcommittee for NASA? The same person that asked about getting pictures of a flag the astronauts left on Mars.
She was also seriously considered by Obama to head the DHS.

Find a Donk on here arguing on here that Obama should tap Sheila Jackson Lee for a cabinet position and you'd have a point.

Palin is an embarrassment as are Bachmann and others. But let's not forget that the Donks have their share as well - Biden, Pelosi, Boxer, Holder, Franken, Reid, etc. We have more clowns in elected office running this country.

Districts have been gerrymandered to the point where it's to that hard to elect and re-elect an idiot. Both parties have them, but it does seem that the donks have more in DC.
The sad thing about Palin in that she says something stupid on a regular basis, she is clearly not qualified for the national stage, yet there are lots of people who want to hear (and care about) what she has to say.

I've got no problem with Palin. She was certainly more qualified to be President than the guy that ended up in the Office. I think the perception of her as deficient is a media creation. I'm sure she's made gaffes but everybody has.
I do think she should have finished her term as governor. That was kind of bad. But I think this thing about her not being capable is false.

She's a nitwit. Her only hope as POTUS would be to have good advisors and listen to them. The perception of her being deficient is from her own sound bites.JohnStOnge wrote:I've got no problem with Palin. Honestly, I think Franken is extremely intelligent but IMO he's so far to the left that it boggles my mind how someone who seems intelligent could be so clueless to the reality that not all companies/business are bad all the while being unable to recognize that some of the left leaning organizations (unions) have warts as well.

As far as I can tell Palin was an active governor. She wasn't just taking up space.
http://online.wsj.com/news/articles/SB1 ... 5833483595" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
And her constituents liked her activity. She had an 80 percent approval rating when she got selected to be the VP candidate. She was WAY more qualified to be President than Obama was. Alaska's a lightly populated State but there is still pretty much going on. In any case, by all accounts, she had been a successful Chief Executive of a State. Obama hadn't been a chief executive, successful or otherwise, of anything.
Then she became the target of multiple hatchet jobs. Funny how that works. And she didn't help herself later by resigning.
But the point is that before she got tabbed as VP candidate she got elected Governor and showed that she was more than up to the task.

Every politician is the target of hatchet jobs, they worked on Palin because she's a nitwit, much more so than Obama. She's not a victim, she's just not qualified to be POTUS. Biden has been around much longer (so of course you will find more gaffes), and has shown ability in certain areas. Palin was a fish out of water as soon as she left Alaska.BDKJMU wrote:At times? Other than governing a state that runs itself, she has shown no ability to do anything (other than look good).
