There's no such thing as a "lost" email - you can delete that sh!t over and over again... Yet it's still (out) there
The emails will be found...

right now i am just a little flabbergasted that the IRS would even mention that the emails were "lost", much less that it would have anything at all to do with Lerner's hard drive on her computer - im not
sure what dumb idiots they think people are
one has to wonder if they just enjoy creating additional suspicion

Depending on the agency they might not be. Locally, they are required to back up constantly and when an employee leaves, a working image of the entire computer is taken. So, it's not uncommon to start with the Navy and get an old computer. I don't know about the rest, but from what I understand, nobody is using the cloud just yet.clenz wrote:I'm no tech expert but something here doesn't add up.
Emails are stored in online accounts and servers, correct? What would a computers hard drive crashing have to do with that?
Every company I've worked for have used a very very basic intranet system and security yet have access to every e-mail sent to, and from, every e-mail address since they started using e-mail, records of every IM sent, website visited,etc...
I don't believe that the government, whom has shown their spyinng capabilities (probably just touched the surface with that fiasco) with the NSA.
There is some conspiracy shit here.
Where's spanos when we need it?

Mailservers do not selectively erase emails to/from one user.Ibanez wrote:Depending on the agency they might not be. I didn't defend anyone, you stupid shit. I'm just giving an insiders point of view to how some government agencies handle back up since that was asked. Locally, emails are backed up twice a month. So i'm sure other agencies are the same (or close). I actually agree with you.travelinman67 wrote:Mailservers do not selectively erase emails to/from one user.Ibanez wrote: Depending on the agency they might not be. Disc failures do not erase data.
The IRS administrators are lying.
Ibanez, once again defending government criminal conduct.

Travelinman, once again ignoring people on the perception that they don't know what they are talking about. You are so damn partisan. Not everything is black and white (Republican and Democrat).

but there are some people (there is one posting in this thread) who are desperately trying to make it political and in this case I find that despicable
if they succeed in squashing this I hope they all find themselves on the receiving end of a politically motivated audit one day

I'd hate to say it, but under a Republican administration the special prosecutor would have been appointed months ago.travelinman67 wrote:Were this to occur under a Republican administration there would be 24/7 media shrieking until a special prosecutor was appointed.
