Being able to speak does not equal power. I was a city administrator for 15 years so I've seen the crazies many times. I doubt that they were the deciding factor for the council.Ibanez wrote:What power do they have? They're not elected officials. Truth. But dealing with a current city council I can tell you they are as well informed as the crazies.HI54UNI wrote:Being able to speak does not equal power. I can see that, but i've also see county council say they will or won't do something due to "public support and outcry". I gotta say, they work for the people and if the people don't want it then the system works.HI54UNI wrote:Being able to speak does not equal power. It is interesting to note that the town in question, Woodland, is part of Northampton County, NC. That county voted 67% for Obama in 2012. I submit this strictly for the humor factor. I'm still trying to find out how Woodland itself voted.

Re: N.C. Town Rejects Solar Panels
The big thing is that solar panels are ugly. Well, not when there's a little one like some I've seen powering some device like a road light out in the middle of nowhere. But the big ones are ugly.
Makes me think of our neighbors across the street. They had solar panels on their roof. The guy died. Shortly thereafter the solar panels were gone. The wife apparently knew "ugly" when she saw it.

Well, I believe that I must tell the truth
And say things as they really are
But if I told the truth and nothing but the truth
Could I ever be a star?
