Who?

SuperHornet's Athletics Hall of Fame includes Jacksonville State kicker Ashley Martin, the first girl to score in a Division I football game. She kicked 3 PATs in a 2001 game for J-State.

Re: Gary Johnson, your next POTUS
I like Johnson because he is precisely against the status quo and let's face it, Washington is broke and with Clinton and/or Trump, nothing changes. Trump appeals to the primal instincts in "angry" voters while Hillary appeals to the free shit crowd and lesbians. Again, the voices of few drown out the voices of many. The real enemy of ANY return to common sense politics is the media who long ago cast their lots with the hate America first leftists and they will attack ANYTHING and ANYBODY who is outside the agenda. They don't hate Trump or Clinton. It's the fucking illusion dude. George Wallace said it best, "There is not one dime's difference between a Republican and a Democrat."OL FU wrote:Honestly, I don't know if I would vote for Johnson or not. Will have to do a little more research on him etc.
But my voting philosophy has changed over the years. Most presidential elections, I vote against someone. I finally got tired of doing that and in 2012 abstained. In 2008 and 2012 republican primaries I voted for Ron Paul. Not necessarily because I thought that was the best presidential choice ( I know sounds strange), not even sure I would have voted for Paul if he had been the nominee.I voted for him because I would like the party to move in that direction. Now I realize my leverage is little, but hell it is what I have.
Now that we have honestly the two worst candidates I can imagine, unless I find something really untoward in Johnson (other than being nutz which pretty much describes where we are anyway), I will probably vote for him.
But they appeal to primal instincts which is why they constantly are at the top. Some day, America will wake up.

Obviously George Wallace was fantastical.
I ain't voting for trump or billary, so the question is who else . Right now Johnson has the lead since I fundamentally agree with libertarian views. But there is plenty of time. Besides with the electoral college SC is Trumps unless the axis tilts and throws most of the voters into the stratosphere .

I vote on principle, and the Libertarians are the closest we're going to get to that in 2016 for us limited government types. If Johnson loses the LP nod to Petersen, I'll vote for Petersen -- who happens to be pro-life. But you just do whatever floats your boat.89Hen wrote:Ivytalk wrote: So you're copping out. Brave, brave Sir Robin!Yeah, voting for Gary Johnson is so very brave. Good luck in November.

It seems like Johnson is getting some significant backing. If enough people have Ivy's attitude and he gets a in the debates and and a fair amount votes, that sends a message.Ivytalk wrote:I vote on principle, and the Libertarians are the closest we're going to get to that in 2016 for us limited government types. Or...look at it this way...Kalm will be casting a more principled, conservative vote than 89hen in November.

I normally don't quote myself, but news accounts indicate that the Libertarian purists at the LP convention actually booed Johnson at yesterday's debate for not being libertarian enough. Wouldn't it be rich if Petersen actually pulls off the upset against the "establishment" LP candidate?Ivytalk wrote:Oh, and thanks to catamountman for starting this thread. On a related note, wouldn't it cap off this retarded political year if Johnson didn't get the LP nod?

Re: Gary Johnson, your next POTUS
I refuse to vote for either major party in national elections. All of my state reps are republicans which is fine but I won't vote for one of them if he's up for re-election because he failed to follow through on having a cup of coffee with me. Haven't looked at county commissioner races yet but will vote Republican there also out of self interest and less regulation.Ivytalk wrote:And how will your "down ballot" votes be cast, Kalmy?kalm wrote:

As for national office...
Washington 5th District: Dave Wilson (I). He's an entrepreneur and won 11% of the vote last time. McMorris-Rogers is a paragon of establishment politics.
Senate: I like the mom in tennis shoes senator but again, can't vote for a major party out of principle. So it's either Uncle Mover or DrPano Kroko Churchill for me...for obvious reasons...
http://www.spokesman.com/stories/2016/m ... reativity/The choice of parties in Washington is mainly a function of a nonpartisan primary that selects candidates for partisan offices. Candidates don’t say they are Democrats, Republicans or Libertarians or Socialists on their official paperwork or the ballot. They say they “prefer” the Democratic, or the Republican, or the Libertarian or Socialist Workers party.
Or this year, the Human Rights, StandupAmerica, Lincoln Caucus, System Reboot parties, all of which are candidate preferences for the U.S. Senate race. Or the Holistic or Fifth Republic party, which each have a candidate in the governor’s race.
These are not “third” parties. They are parties so minor as to be inventions of the candidates themselves. Some are hints about that would-be officeholder’s plans or principles. Some take a bit of deciphering. David Blomstrom, the gubernatorial candidate from the Fifth Republic Party – slogan: “viva la revolucion” – has a fairly detailed explanation of how the United States has moved through four republics, and he wants to help usher in the fifth. For those who want more elucidation, that’s why God and Al Gore invented the Internet.

Re: Gary Johnson, your next POTUS
So can Bill Weld overcome his history of endorsing Barry Sotero in 2008 and denying ballot access to Libertarians in NY in 2012, and become Johnson's running mate?
GJ thinks Weld will get him more street cred -- and money -- but I think it would be a hoot if Larry Sharpe won. The brothas would flock to the LP!

My brother is a big "L" Libertarian. He's been a delegate to the national convention twice. Talking this weekend he said he will not be voting Libertarian this year. He can live with Johnson but was not happy about Weld on the ticket. He says the Libertarian Party also started kissing Muslin ass in the last year and that their open borders policy, which he theoretically agrees with, isn't realistic as long as we have the welfare state that we have.
He also shared this video with the freak show that is the Libertarian Convention.

National Review has already weighed in with a piece on how "unserious" the LP is. That goofball is all over the Internet now. When you advocate for getting the government out of driver's licenses, I can see NR's point!HI54UNI wrote:My brother is a big "L" Libertarian. He's been a delegate to the national convention twice. That said, I'm still voting for Johnson. I would have preferred a different Veep candidate, but you can't have everything.
