Nobody cares about you talking about politicians or grunts. It's when you insulted grunts that I shook my head: the very first post where I quoted you. That was bullshit and you know it. But instead of retracting or apologizing for your bullshit, you keep onCluck U wrote:![]()

Which resources, exactly, are coming out of Afghanistan, HD? Links?
You and a couple others like to talk about this one but as yet I don't see Apple and Samsung getting their rare earths from Afghanistan. There are too many other options that don't involve the exorbitant costs of trying to mine in a war zone full of murder monkeys.
So let's see you start sourcing your claims

You have sourced that
A. Afghanistan has a lot of minerals and
B. There are American companies that would like to mine them
I am not disputing any of that
Get back to me when the drills start drilling and the trucks start rolling and THEN maybe the argument that we are only in Afghanistan for the minerals might move out of Spandos/Clitz/HD territory
Our military cant control 1% of that shithole. The place needs to come out of the stone age before anyone can think of mining it in a cost effective way - and when that happens the Chinese will control it. Quite frankly any mining interests in America that are entertaining thoughts of pulling mineral wealth out of there any time within the next 50 years need to also be checked for belief in unicorns

Any corporate interests would get blown to hell within a week's time, plus the sources of these well endowed minerals are public knowledge, which makes them bullseye targets to insurgents and terrorist groups. We're in the midst of a cold war stand-off with China in the south China sea over what..?
We were in the midst of a cold war stand off over POST Iraq oil
We've been in a cold war stand off with China over Libya since 1980
and the list goes on...
We're obsessed with Chinese maneuverings and future plans
and just because Russia spent a wasted decade in Afghanistan
Russian soldiers dying for proposed future oil pipelines
I don't really think we learned anything from Russian failures there
and I DO THINK we're just stupid enough to try and advance corner that market

I mentioned before that when Afghanistan opens up (one day) the Chinese will control it
but they wont have to fire a shot. They'll use their African model:
1. give them free infrastructure in the way of railroads, airports and trains
2. allow the afghan govt to take the credit
3. Dont harrass the afghan govt over petty trivialities like human rights

1)allow those evil Chinamen to extend their influence
2) team up with that communist dictator (according to Joe Biden) in Russia to contain China,
or, 3) brand Iran as the new "frontline against evil" and support the Ayatollah against Chinese aggression.
or we can continue the "America, fuck yeah" policies of the Bush administration and continue to stick our noses into areas of the world to "combat terror", while Mexico is right on our doorstep and we can't even use our so-called "sphere of influence" to get them on the same page as us. The Monroe Doctrine has apparently applied to the entire world now, not just the Western Hemisphere.

When did Biden call Putin communist? Dictator is debatable I guess... but, Putin as a communist is just retarded.

More tongue in cheek on the communist (with the whole "Russia has ALWAYS been our enemy" excuse that both sides continue to perpetuate), dictator is a quote directly contributable to Biden on stage at the Dem convention where he directly called Putin a dictator (twice) to a national audience, which I'm sure is wonderful for foreign relations.Skjellyfetti wrote:When did Biden call Putin communist? its the same option that got left out of our dealings with Iran (and led to that giant RANSOM known as the "nuclear deal")
its called doing nothing
(the benign but effective cousin of "doing something")
For some reason we find this option so untenable that it never winds up in our list of choices, but I find it to be the most desirable
