Re: The First 100 Days of Trump
You can't make this up-
Today at work a couple colleagues were grousing about the death of the TPP and how it will help China.
I mentioned that Hillary said she was against it.
They both said yeah- but she didn't mean it. I gave them my raised eyebrow look and said, "Lying?"

She lied to get Bernie voters...and then was surprised and upset that they didn't bite.

BUT failed to comprehend that is just electricity production, not the total energy sector.

"..Solar technologies, both photovoltaic and concentrating, employ almost 374,000 workers, or 43 percent of the Electric Power Generation workforce. This isfollowed by fossil fuel generation employment, which accounts for 22 percent of total Electric Power Generation employment and supports 187,117 workers across coal, oil, and natural gas generation technologies..."
Table 1. Generation and Fuels Employment by Sub-Technology

Natural gas: 362,118
Coal: 160,119
Advanced gas: 36,117

Add in the externalities of oil and the gap closes. Oil has a little bit of a head start but efficiencies will be gained for renewables and further level the playing field.SDHornet wrote:That came to mind as well....so solar with all its employees will somehow be cheaper than using a source that literally just shoots from the ground.AZGrizFan wrote:

It's nice being right. How many times did I tell people that the courts will check Trumps actions? How often did I tell people that the GOP isn't 100% behind him and that powerful leaders will oppose him? It's nice being right.

What have the courts checked in the first 10 days other that a small portion of his exec action on refugees/immigrants from the 7 countries? And those court checks may be temporary.Ibanez wrote:It's nice being right. How many times did I tell people that the courts will check Trumps actions? "Early wins against Trump immigration order may not last
Initial court rulings protect travelers caught in limbo, but a full derailing of the president’s directive will be tough.
Immigrant rights groups scored a series of early court victories against President Donald Trump’s terrorism-focused executive order limiting travel from seven Muslim-majority countries, but legal experts and administration officials said the impact of those initial legal victories could prove fleeting.....
.....However, lawyers pressing the cases acknowledged that their courtroom wins so far may directly benefit no more than a couple of hundred people essentially caught in limbo when Trump signed his order Friday afternoon..
...The flurry of legal rulings Saturday and early Sunday do not appear to have disturbed the central thrust of Trump’s order....

Checking his EO on vetting will not stand and it was over reach by yet another liberal judge. What she did is not legal

Do you realize how much land solar and/or wind would require to replace fossil fuels? So much that they're really just a holy grail that will likely never achieve what liberals think they will. The real solutions are still being developed and we don't know what they are yet.kalm wrote:Add in the externalities of oil and the gap closes.
