I don't know what you mean by "recent." My first presidential ballot was 1972, and I wrote someone in rather than vote for Nixon or McGovern. In 1992, I voted for the Libertarian candidate in protest over Bush the Elder's flippant violation of his no-new-taxes pledge. In 2016, I voted for GJ. Other than that, I voted for the GOP candidate every time. I've voted for only one Democrat at the statewide level ever : a former law partner of mine who ran (unsuccessfully) for AG one year.
