But, different subsections. It's a Yuge difference.
Looks, I do think Clinton should have been prosecuted and I'm not defending her. But, these aren't anywhere near the same situations.

Lots of paradoxes but there's also a bottom line conclusion that it's one more indication that Trump is full of shit with respect to his statements about Russian involvement.

Eh. It doesn't speak to the Trump team's involvement one way or the other. This was about Russian hacking into state election systems. And, what was leaked wasn't even the whole story to that piece of it.

Re: NSA leaker arrested
Trump looks at the whole idea of Russian involvement as an excuse by the Democrats for losing. He's stated repeatedly that there's no reason to believe the Russians were involved in trying to impact the election. He is full of shit in that regard. No surprise since he is full of shit all the time.Skjellyfetti wrote:Eh. It doesn't speak to the Trump team's involvement one way or the other. Ah, I see. I misread your post. Thought you were talking about the collusion question.
Yeah, I don't disagree with you there about Trump and Republicans' dismissal of Russian meddling outright... even though it happened and is a serious threat.
They dismissed the IC assessments because they didn't have "proof" and just summarized the IC's conclusions. The IC has proof - they're just not sharing it with us.

Re: NSA leaker arrested
I don't know if Clinton would've won if you removed the Russians as a factor but to suggest that they weren't a factor increasing the probability of her losing is ridiculous. There is no way to know if she'd have won without any Russian interference. But it was an extremely close election. Trump won by less than 1% in each of the three key States that everyone talks about (Michigan, Pennsylvania, Wisconsin). And it happened in the context of a constant Wikileaks drip of information designed to hurt Clinton's chances.BDKJMU wrote:Its true. But congratulations on being on the same side as the Putin when it comes to the well being of the United States.

This is a prime example of how everything is monitored. There are programs that read what you are printing/copying/faxing and making sure it doesn't contain NPI or any other sort of confidential data. You'd think an INTELLIGENCE contractor would realize that.
Most MFDs have some sort of logging capability (and it's not uncommon to have to punch in your password to make scans). Even outgoing emails are read to ensure data isn't ex-filtrated.
Good ole Cyber-Security caught this moron.

As CID said though, the fact this thing got a clearance shows how broken that process is before it even gets to any ongoing monitoring.Ibanez wrote:This woman is a prime example of how everything is monitored. I'll also add, people who have had clearances for decades are now getting held up indefinitely on reclearances because of cyber theft and idiots like this. This kind of sucks during a tactical job-hopping operation!

Re: NSA leaker arrested
Maybe there weren't any warning signs when she got her clearance. Are we going to stop issuing clearances b/c someone like Bernie or Trump? Just like Hillary, this woman had a clearance, i'm assuming at least 1 NDA, and knew the rules. She willfully stole information. You can't always discern that someone is going to do that when issuing a clearance. We both know how much scrutiny goes into a TS.93henfan wrote:As CID said though, the fact this thing got a clearance shows how broken that process is before it even gets to any ongoing monitoring.Ibanez wrote:This woman is a prime example of how everything is monitored. She knew better. She was crypto in the USAF, worked for the NSA. She knew better.
