Did what job? LBJ's presidency was far from good. He certainly bears a lot of responsibility for escalating Vietnam into the disaster that it became. While noble in intent, his War on Poverty was horribly implemented and you could argue that it's done more harm that good in the long run. And while he was there when important Civil Rights legislation happened, those things were already moving through the system even without him. It's likely whoever was in office when they came around would've seen them through. He wasn't a terrible President, but he wasn't a particularly good one either.
