Opinion - Here’s the only thing you need to take away from Trump’s speech to Congress
Throughout the evening, one thing became abundantly clear: Democrats have learned absolutely nothing from their decisive election loss.

Republicans are not guilt-free in the heckling department. Former Rep. Joe Wilson (R-S.C.) was a pioneer in this regard when, in 2009, he yelled “You lie!” while President Obama talked about his health care plan.

That almost seems quaint now.
...
It is clear that Democrats learned nothing from the election and its aftermath. They genuinely believe they have a messaging problem, not an issues problem.
Pretty accurate.

Some of trump's points:
  • Immigration - trump is winning this issue but it will be interesting to see the impact on food prices.
  • Economy - the market, tariffs, inflation, and unemployment don't look good for trump.
  • Trans "rights" - trump is winning this issue
  • Lots of FAKE NEWS - doge has saved 100's of billions, people over 120 are collecting Social Security, tariffs brought in trillion during his first term, etc.

Elissa Slotkin delivered an important address, one Democrats should pay attention to.
Slotkin noted that the "middle class is the engine of our country," said change should be made but not in a "reckless" way, warned Trump wants to give billionaires tax cuts at the expense of other things that are important to most people, went after Musk and "his gang of 20-year-olds" poking through sensitive personal information, and invoked Ronald Reagan.

"As a Cold War kid, I'm thankful it was Reagan and not Trump in office in the 1980s," she said, noting the "spectacle" in the Oval Office between Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. "Trump would have lost us the Cold War."

-Market: Dow is up for the year, S&P and NASDAQ down. Remains to be seen, although it is due for a correction and there will be one. When, remains to be seen.

-Inflation: remains to be seen. Feb #s, Trumps 1st month, not out yet. He does have an excellent 4 year track record.

-Umeployment: remains to be seen. Feb #s not out yet. 3 of 4 years under Trump (before Covid) very good before went to shit during Covid.

-A lot of the tariff stuff is carrot stick. Sometimes at the last minute postponed after winning concessions. Again, remains to be seen.

-Interest rates have fallen under Trump.

-Gas prices have fallen under Trump, but that usually happens this time of year anyway. A HUGE economic factor moving forward will be energy prices (that’s not just at the pump but for every good and service). Lower energy prices (Drill Baby Drill) can offset any increase inflationary pressure from tariffs.

Yep. Young man who lost his military veteran police officer father, and now going to West Point. According to donks, not worth cheering for. Probably because they see white male going into the military, so they assume conk. Boy do donks hate white male conks.
While Trump is cutting to VA services and jobs many of which are veterans themselves? Kind of like the cheering for the kid with cancer AND cheering for cuts in children’s cancer research.

You all are just trying to normalize Trump’s own shitty policies and behavior. Nothing more. Partisanship over quality of life and country.

All true, but the left made a career violent criminal unintentionally killed by a rogue cop into a martyr, and didn’t have a tiny fraction of the same reaction to what those Memphis cops intentionally did to Tyree Nichols, which was FAR WORSE IMHOP. And we all know the reason why. Shows the hypocrisy of the left.

Bobqat celebrating death but he swears he doesn't do that ...
Bobqat wrote: Tue Feb 25, 2025 4:38 pm I don't celebrate death like you guys when you got giddy in your no no spots over the healthcare CEO being murdered
Bobqat wrote: Thu Feb 20, 2025 2:59 pm The left loves killing people, abortion, endless wars and school shootings. Not to mention the killing of CEOs that, guys like Kkkalm and MGR88 celebrate
It would seem that he does celebrate death but likes to project and place the blame on others. Very trumpian in that regard.

I agree, but is that the point? Maybe the point was to expose how knee jerk the Left has been over the concept. Now people who never would have been involved are talking. Seeing how dysfunctional aspects of our government have gotten.

Maybe trump:
- is such an egomaniac that he actually believes the bullshit he spews.
- is so narcissistic that he actually believes the bullshit he spews.
- is so fvcking crazy and demented that he can't tell the difference between reality and fantasy and actually believes the bullshit he spews.

It could be any of the the three.
