You really should think before you post.catamount man wrote:Doesn't bother me, I have neither wife nor child and yes, you would be in your right to threaten, just as I would be in my right to lay your ass out whenever ye come calling.Cleets Part 2 wrote:
Yeah... great point
Isn't that a shame that I can't threaten to kill your wife and kids if I want to...
Gosh what's happened to this great nation
Suppose that I threatened you - and you are pretty sure that I mean it. In your world, there would be no sense in going to the police, because according to you, I am within my rights to threaten you.
So how do you defend yourself? Wait for me to attack, and hope you are able to fend me off? Perhaps you should just kill me preemptively. Sounds a lot like the old west - maybe you were born about 150 years to late.

Re: Newspaper Runs Ad Calling for Obama's Assassination
Now that everyone has gotten that out of their systems, let's review the original story...
A classified ad is placed in a newspaper that basically is a wish for harm to come to the President....not good...
It was not in the news section, so a journalist did not have anything to do with it...most likely a low-paid (this was a small town newspaper) clerk-type person who was concerned about a couple of things....
1, is it paid for (credit card went through, or cash, or is the check made out properly)....OK
2, Any dirty words....nope....check
It was a journalist who made the connection and wrote the story that exposed the ad.....
Now, I'm the first to bash journalists (and I kinda like it...
) but let's be fair here...
OK, back to uncivil discourse.....
