Natural rights (also called moral rights or inalienable rights) are rights which are not contingent upon the laws, customs, or beliefs of a particular society or polity.

Also did a word search...health care is not mentioned in the Constitution or any of the Amendments...

Free and or subsidized Health Care is not an Inalienable right.... :coffee:

Yeah, YOU can't be like the socialists who are on the medicare, VA, Congress, Senate, White House, Postal Service, Military, socialist health care program. Haven't you heard, it's these beneficiaries who proclaim that Government health care does not work!

Who would Jesus deny free healthcare to?
Who would Jesus bomb in the name of "spreading democracy"?
Who would Jesus waterboard for "helpful information"?
Who would Jesus illegally wiretap?

I just love how conservatives look at somebody with real medical problems as a "slug who doesn't want to earn anything." WOW!!!!! That is just a sad and PATHETIC way to feel about another human being.

He claimed it's an inalienable right. It's not. End of discussion. All those people aren't given a choice, and you know it. Believe me, after 12 years of government "health care", I'd have MUCH rather been given the HMO coverage and been able to go see a civilian doctor.

Yes, that applies to my good friend Jeff. College educated professional, Emmy-award winning producer. Got laid off from his job at CMT during budget cuts a few years back. Developed a pain in his abdomen, thought it was a hernia, delayed treating because of no insurance. By the time he went to the ER because of the pain, it was too late - cancer of the lymph nodes. Jeff fought for a year and a half, went through rounds of chemo (which he paid as best he could, but still left a huge debt), and passed away over two years ago at the age of 38.

If he had insurance, he would likely be alive today - they could have caught it before it spread.

Sad Jon, but the GOP pundits could care less. He wasn't bombing civilians or "promoting" Jesus.

In his earlier life, yes. But not in the last few years of his life. I find it rather insulting that you would lump everyone without health insurance into a loser category. There are many, many productive Americans that because of various circumstances, have to choose between food and insurance or medical treatment. that is not right.

And there are many, many productive Americans that have to choose between quads and insurance. Or between their 30' motorhome payment and insurance. Or between their boat payment and insurance. Or between their cabin in the woods and insurance. They live beyond their means, and I'm supposed to cover the difference. BS.

Well If I had all my medical, optical, and dental care provided by all the other "non deserving taxpayers" I wouldn't be all that happy about the benefits being offered to them either.

I might even say ridiculous things like "Well it isn't all that great, and I would rather have HMO private coverage" too.

Since our Senators and Congress persons are in receipt of the same tax payer funded medical services we should know better than expect anything to be done with this mess, they too feel most entitled.

There is NO proof that anything he did caused his cancer, fatboy.

And you DID end up paying for it - the hundreds of thousands of dollars of care (mainly chemo drugs) raises the rates that you and I pay.

It would have been FAR cheaper to have universal coverage for him. And it is far cheaper for us all to provide this for all Americans.
