Cheney's a bad dude. I can't lie, he scares me a little. Never have liked him, but if I had someone I wanted dead, he'd be at the top of the list of people I'd want on my side. :ugeek:
Dear lord... please allow this dangerous combination of hair spary, bat slobber, and D.O.T. four automatic transmission fluid to excite my mind, occupy my spirits, and enrage my body, provoking me to kick any man or woman in the back of the head regardless of what he or she has or has not done unto me. All my Best, Earlie Cuyler.

...or, to be safer, let's put him on the list.

What part of "I served for many years in many capacities" did you not understand, Tough Guy? Where were YOU in 2004? I was living in the Al Sadeer Hotel in Baghdad, riding out every day to police stations to try to keep them from getting their butts blown off, and I was doing it with an unarmored SUV, a kaffiyeh on my head and the hope that some a$$hole insurgent wasn't going to recognize me. Where were you in the mid-late 1980s? I was in the north Atlantic, bobbing up and down on tin cans. I have served in the military, in law enforcement on local and federal levels, in ICITAP, in the intelligence community, and I am STILL on the payroll in POL-MIL affairs. Been doing this for 20 years, and I still have another 25 left in me, son. So go project your own regret at not being fed at your mother's tit and leave the thinking to the adults and the people who actually know their heads from their a$$es.
   :shake:
What a sad little boy you must be. I didn't quote you so fvck off. If you had read what else i wrote maybe you would understand.
Where was I in "04", where were you in the late 70's through the early 90's? I was in the Soiviet Union, Lebannon Iran and varius other places having fun. So what, I did my job, no more than you did. Which was still more than most of the whiners on here.
I find it extremely hard to believe that someone who knows anything about military readiness also thinks that compulsory military service is the way to go. Plus, arguing that military service should be a prerequisite for making decisions involving the military or even having opinions on the same runs counter to the concept of civilian control of the military. You should really read up on it.

Perhaps some REMF in a payroll office or an APO could be in favor of compulsory service, but you'll be VERY hard pressed to find a real warfighter who feels that way. Hot or cold, Bubba?

Jon, the politicians haven't listened to the generals since 1965. Bush didn't invent this crap, although anything in politics that doesn't work somehow gets linked back to him.

True. Guess I forgot about the little Korean conflict.

Speaking from the pespective of someone who did not "serve" in a military capacity, I do appreciate what all you guys did or still do. All I want is that we spend the money allotted to the military in a wise fashion. This was not done with Iraqistan and Afghaniraq, it has been clearly documented.

Also, kill unnecessary programs and have some accountability for gross cost overruns. It is the same perspective as the many who complain about public assistance programs.

As for Cheney, he's going to Hell.

Have a nice day!!
