This must be a coincidence. The timing isn't suspect at all and we know the intelligence community would never work with establishment members of Congress to undermine a POTUS.

The problem for those of you that want to go down that road is that the complaint is totally consistent with the memo with notes on the conversation. So you can say it was "hearsay" but the "hearsay" is seen to be accurate. The complaint's claim that the memo was unusually placed into a higher security storage system has also been shown to be true. It's kind of hard to attack the "hearsay" thing when stuff keeps coming out to validate the complaint.

What the intelligence community might do, BTW, is let those of us that are blind to it at this point know that we have a complete nut job atrocity who is doing all sorts of unacceptable things as President right now. Or at least they can try.
There is nothing in the Constitution that prevents a POTUS from calling his counterpart in Ukraine to congratulate him.
There is also nothing that prohibits him discussing the need to investigate someone
who stands credibly accused of serious misconduct, regardless of whether his dad is running for president.

And of course it was placed into higher security. The WH has been proven to be filled with leakers and snitches. This leaker is just the latest.

When did they move to the memo to the secure server? Is that the only conversation that has been moved there?

Hillary did not give money to other nations to get dirt on Trump or anybody else. Assuming it's what you are talking about, the Democrat Party paying a private entity (Fusion GPS) for opposition research is not paying a foreign country for opposition research. Fusion GPS had a former British intelligence professional working for it. That former British intelligence professional talked to people from various nations while gathering information. But that does not mean the Democrat Party in general or Hillary in particular paid other nations to get dirt on Trump.

Also, note that the Clinton campaign did not use any of the information in the Steele Dossier.

This crap of acting like Hillary, the Democrats, or anybody else has done crap like Trump and his people have done or are doing is nonsense.
No she didn't give it directly, she funneled it through her network as the Washington Post spells out. She damn well knew what was going on. Essentially paying Steele to ask the Russians for dirt.

https://www.washingtonpost.com/world/na ... story.html
The Hillary Clinton campaign and the Democratic National Committee helped fund research that resulted in a now-famous dossier containing allegations about President Trump's connections to Russia and possible coordination between his campaign and the Kremlin, people familiar with the matter said.

I'm not sure what has been proven accurate. Two of the people who the leaker identified as being present for the call were not even there and had no knowledge of the details of the call.
I am not saying that's not true because I'm sure you must have seen some source for the information. However, I think it would be good if you share it. I say that because I only see one person, T. Ulrich Brechbuhl, specifically identified as having listened to the call in the public version of the Whistle Blower complaint.

Maybe identifications like that are in there and I just don't see them. If you see them and can tell me where they are let me know. See https://time.com/5687640/read-trump-whi ... complaint/ for the public version of the complaint.

In any case, the biggest takeaway is that the complaint said Trump had a call with Zelenskyy and pressured Zelenskyy to "initiate or continue an investigation(2) into the activities of former Vice President Joseph Biden and his son, Hunter Biden." Any intellectually honest person who looks at that memo of conversation the White House released will conceded that is true.

The next biggest takeaway is that the complaint said "multiple U.S. officials that senior White House officials had intervened to 'lock down' all records of the phone call, especially the official word-for-word transcript of the call that was produced" and that is also true except that it is not a word for word transcript.

What's going on with people on the right at this time is really bad. Just complete denial of reality.

The memo of telephone conversation we've all seen isn't hearsay either and if one is intellectually honest one will conclude that Trump was indeed pressuring the Ukraine President to go after Biden. Also pressured him to pursue that whack job conspiracy theory about the missing DNC server and the Democrats conspiring with the Ukraines to frame the Russians as doing it.

The problem is that intellectual honesty is in very short supply among Republicans right now.

All other things aside, the person who made the complaint is not a leaker. The person went through the legal process provided for making the Congress of the United States aware of their concern. Had the person gone to the Washington Post that would be leaking. Going through the legal process for expressing concern to Congress based on what the person was being told by White House officials is not leaking.
