So it's more important to be able to bitch than to take part in a meaningful way that will actually effect the outcome?

Enough third party votes and it becomes meaningful. :coffee:

Voting for the same two parties and expecting different results...

I am not the only one who sees the Hitler-type analogy. From Thomas Sowell:

http://townhall.com/columnists/thomasso ... i-n2108185" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
However puzzling the fervent support for Donald Trump may be today, given how little basis there is for it, such blind faith is not unique in history. Other dire or desperate times have produced other charismatic leaders to whom desperate people have turned, with hopes of deliverance.

Trump is certainly different from establishment Republicans, but it that enough?

Things were appalling in 1917 Russia, when people turned to Lenin to try to get them out of a disastrous war abroad and a bitter economic situation at home.

The fact that Lenin was quite different from the czar who had led the country into catastrophe might have seemed promising to some people. He was also different from the ineffective Kerensky government that failed in its brief months in office. But the totalitarian government that Lenin established proved to be even worse than its predecessors.
And no, that's not the same as saying Trump is just like Lenin (Hitler is mentioned in the article too). It's just pointing to a certain general type of personality exploiting a certain general type of population psychology. People irrationally supporting a populist demagogue who pushed the right buttons for them because of a confluence of circumstances.
Well, I believe that I must tell the truth
And say things as they really are
But if I told the truth and nothing but the truth
Could I ever be a star?

I just saw a video in which Thomas Sowell said that he did not vote in the 1972 Presidential Election because it was Nixon vs. McGovern and he thought either one would be a disaster.

Me, I have taken your attitude during every single Presidential election of my lifetime. Look at the two choices that have a chance to win and vote for the one that's best...or at least the lesser of two evils. But if Trump gets nominated I'll feel a lot like Dr. Sowell felt in 1972. For the first time in my life I will probably vote third Party. Probably for the Libertarian candidate unless that person too is just not tolerable.

And as I said earlier if I were in a State where it is close...a swing state...I would actually have to hold my nose really, really hard and vote for HIllary Clinton if it's her vs. Trump. If it's Bernie Sanders I don't know WHAT the heck I'd do. Hard to see a lesser evil. Both about as bad as it can get. So far this Presidential election scenario is potential shaping up to be the worst of my lifetime. Worse than I could ever have imagined as I honestly could never have imagined a plurality of Republican Primary voters supporting something like Donald Trump.

U.S. Republican front-runner Donald Trump expressed confidence on Saturday that he could push back attempts by his rivals to knock him off his top perch, saying he could stand in New York's Fifth Avenue "and shoot somebody" and not lose voters.

Seriously, that was an absolutely stupid article. I didn't get the idea that that guy knew any more about Lenin and the Russian Revolution than what he read in a Wikipedia article. The presence of Bolshevism in pre-Revolutionary Russia was quite prolific - people weren't entering into a change of government sight unseen, they knew exactly what they were signing up for. It went bad when the Revolution never ceased being the Revolution from the standpoint of putting down resistance. To even attempt to compare the Russian Revolution with the Trump candidacy is just mere nonsense. Again, I cringe at the level of lack of understanding of history that is present in our society today, and comparisons of Trump to Hitler or Lenin or any other historical bogeyman show a lack of understanding of history. Trump is a political buffoon, not a maniacal personality bent on making over the world in some radical fashion.

I just read that the Trump campaign is on track to becoming the first Presidential campaign in US history to turn a profit. Didn't know it was even possible but if true, that's good business acumen.

Marco Rubio...small government conservative...

Why are all of these groups wasting their speech (I mean money) like this?
Marco Rubio, Following Donor Dollars, Frequently Veers From Limited-Government Dogma

Lee Fang

Republican presidential candidate Marco Rubio casts himself as a champion of limited government and in a new campaign ad even depicts himself as a warrior against special interests.

But on issues including sugar subsidies, online gambling, spending on military contractors, telecom regulations, and taxpayer support to scandal-plagued for-profit colleges, Rubio has backed a sweeping and costly role for the federal government.

What is it about those issues that gets Rubio to act against his stated small-government principles? They’re all associated with powerful political donors Rubio has carefully cultivated over the years.........

Marco Rubio is a POS. There's a reason why Romney didn't pick him as his VP candidate.
