Many people retire and die quickly

Very true. However 13% of SS recipients are eligible through disability. Those who can continue to work past retirement age are admirable and fortunate. But many lose the ability to work due to aging and health related issues. And many spend long hours caring for grandchildren and spouses to save the family money on childcare.

Not to mention the aging out of jobs happens in the 50’s. There are very highly experienced and educated people in their late 50’s who are let go for younger, cheaper replacements and/or can’t find employment due to age.
