And we should be more concerned about Muslims because Christofascists only want to "acknowledge the Christian heritage of our nation"? That's :dunce:

We are not and we have never been a Christian nation.
We are a nation founded on Western Judeo Christian values.
Christianity culturally and historically important to the founding of this nation. That does not make us a Christian nation.

Just check the The Treaty of Tripoli, negotiated in 1796 during George Washington's presidency, and submitted to the Senate by John Adams in 1797. The Senate ratified it unanimously. Article 11 of the English version says:
As the Government of the United States of America is not in any sense founded on the Christian religion; as it has in itself no character of enmity against the laws, religion, or tranquillity of Mussulmen.
We are not and have never been a Christian nation. Anyone that tells you differently is a bald faced liar or is delusional and needs psychiatric help.
Being wrong about a topic is called post partisanism - kalm

maQa - putting the Q into qrazy qanon qult qonspiracy theories since 2015.

It will probably be difficult for MAQA yahoos to overcome the Qult programming but they should give being rational & reasonable a try.

You claimed we were founded on Christian values.

Only indirectly at best. The founding was most influenced by the ideas of enlightenment thinkers like Lock, Rousseau, and Montesquieu in addition to English common law and the abuses of King Goerge and the East India Tea Company. The Iroquois Confederacy probably had as strong of an influence as hydro-Christian beliefs.

Your lack of intellectual curiosity is astoundingly shallow. This nails our culture and history to damn near perfection. There are many great Christian’s out there. They would all agree with this. None of them follow Trump.

I am not any of whoever those people are, yet you have responded to my or Hens posts as if we said it. So again, reading is fundamental.

I’ve said JUDEO Christian values. And the previous post I said Western Judeo Christian values.

And lol not indirectly at best. The Declaration of Independence contains four references to a deity in theistic language common to the era:
“Laws of Nature and of Nature’s God,“
“endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights,”
“Supreme Judge of the world,”
“protection of Divine Providence.”

While the Constitution is more secular, most Founders were raised Protestant or orthodox Christians. Biblical and Protestant ideas were pervasive in late 18th century culture.
And newsflash. I‘m agnostic. Haven‘t been to a church service in years (trying to remember the last church wedding or funeral I went to.

What were their religious beliefs when they were involved in writing the Constitution or serving as POTUS, in Congress, etc?

Adams, Jefferson, Madison and possibly even Washington were more unitarian/deist than traditional Christian when they were actually founding the country.

The USA is not and never has been q Christian nation. Anyone who argues differently is an unhinged radical extremist attempting to destroy this great nation.

I know exactly what you said.

Christianity is defined by Christ. It’s even in the name!

Yet not a single mention in the constitution of Christ, Jesus, Christianity, etc. Natures God? Ask an animist or pantheist. They’d have a bone to pick with you. The Jefferson Bible is still in publication IIRC. The one where he removed all of the supernatural and miracle claims.

Lastly, the enlightenment was a push back against the Christian Church. It relied on reason and science. While some of the founders were Christian, a few notable ones were not. They also tended to be learned men unlike common folk who were more basic in their understandings of philosophy and religion.

E for effort but I’m sorry, your initial statement is flawed.
