:suspicious:
A proposal to outlaw abortions in South Carolina after about six weeks of pregnancy got a first round of approval in the state Senate on Tuesday after Senate Republicans removed protections in the bill for women who become pregnant from rape or incest.

That's pretty fucked up. At 6 weeks 99% of women don't even know they're pregnant yet. And until they can pinpoint the actual DAY of conception, they're going to have a hard time enforcing any law that has that razor thin of a margin for error.

FTR, it's not. Scientology is bat shit crazy. But if it has made someone a better person without hurting others...so be it.

And there are parts of catholicism that are truly wonderful and impressive and it has helped form some tremendous people.

I just think that it all deserves scrutiny and questioning.

Still friends?

Of course. It doesn't bother me when people question Catholicism. There are quite a few things I'm hoping will change. And if anyone doesn't realize, they ARE open to change. They're discussing priests being married and women being deacons this very week in Rome. I'm for both. :thumb: I'm also a big proponent of birth control.

What I'm saying about Scientology is do you think LDS is batshit crazy? A lot of it is. But is it not a valid religion? Where am I to draw the line?

Define “valid religion”.

Is their a dividing line or just matters of degree. Islam is batshit crazy as well. Somehow I think we’re closer to agreement than we realize here.

Looking back you used "legit". Don't know if there's a difference between legit and valid in this case. Not trying to pass the buck, but I think it would be up to you to define since you asked the original question. I don't think LDS is an invalid religion, but I'm sure some folks do.

Absolutely...
it's all based on ones own personal "bullsh!t meter"

You got guys like alpha that claim to have the worlds most acute BS meter
and he's simultaneously damned near a fundamentalist

then you got guys like CID who make no claims about their BS meter
and that thing is dialed in like the Hubble

LDS is a mans scheme to sell a book. It's a crazy ass cult. Anyone that's read a biography of Joseph Smith and the origins of Mormonism know it's absolutely, batshit crazy.

FWIW, the bible is still the top seller.

I know many, many Mormons and all of the ones I know are extremely nice, generous and tolerant of others. Their only problem is they don't drink. I never trust anyone that doesn't drink. ;)

Aside from the reported national security concerns...I cringe each time I hear the phrase old rich white guys. And that’s what I’ve heard twice from SJW pundits to describe this outing. Then I see the pictures and they have Peter King on for an interview about it and I’m like...”oh”.

But I do think it’s wonderful that the conks are learning the value of protest. I’m all for conk sit-ins!
