Did you belong to the police guild?
It isn't just about money. Unions influence elections by having members "volunteer" to work in support of their preferred candidates. Corporations can't require their employees to do the same.

On the Federal level the unions are good for 2 things: Protecting incompetence/problem employees, and obstructing change even when it makes work easier and more efficient.

You tend to be harder on Conks and corporations than you are on Donks and unions. I'm good with it though because I'm the opposite and it provides balance.

Straw man-

You don’t complain at all about unions - which is my point exactly

But you’re all over corporate campaign money like clotz on comcast

It’s awfully selective

Not everything is binary. You’re whining would make sense if unions represented more than 10% of the workforce or influence.

We're so focused on impeachment that we missed these great comments by Obama ...

Obama on Call-Out Culture: ‘That’s Not Activism’
“This idea of purity and you’re never compromised and you’re always politically ‘woke’ and all that stuff,” Mr. Obama said. “You should get over that quickly.”

“The world is messy; there are ambiguities,” he continued. “People who do really good stuff have flaws. People who you are fighting may love their kids, and share certain things with you.”
...
“Like, if I tweet or hashtag about how you didn’t do something right or used the wrong verb,” he said, “then I can sit back and feel pretty good about myself, cause, ‘Man, you see how woke I was, I called you out.’”

“That’s not activism. That’s not bringing about change,” he said. “If all you’re doing is casting stones, you’re probably not going to get that far. That’s easy to do.”
"Good for Obama,” Ms. Coulter tweeted on Wednesday night, adding a parenthetical: “Not sarcastic!”
Michael Arceneaux, the author of “I Can’t Date Jesus: Love, Sex, Family, Race, and Other Reasons I’ve Put My Faith in Beyoncé,” said he didn’t “need lessons about ‘being woke’ and ‘cancel culture’” in an op-ed for The Independent.

“I am never quite sure if Obama really thinks this naïvely or if he’s trying to convince certain sects of the population — notably young black folks, whom he just loves to lecture — that it’s better to coddle white people about their prejudices with the hopes of growth rather than speak our minds as we see fit,” he said.
So this guy doesn't like being lectured by Obama but he wants to lecture white people about their prejudices.

Can a liberal explain to me how it isn't prejudiced or racist to stereotype all white people as being prejudiced? I'm struggling with that one and it's really interfering with my ability to be woken.

An Indonesian man has been publicly flogged for adultery, under a draconian law he helped create.

Mukhlis, a member of the Aceh Ulema Council (MPU) in the deeply conservative Aceh province of Indonesia, received 28 lashes in front of a crowd on Thursday after being caught having an affair with a married woman.

These things make me giggle with glee

Run him right up his own flagpole

BTW I have mentioned before that Indonesia is moving in a direction where it cannot be considered a “moderate” Muslim country

It is one of those places that apologists for Islam like to point to... like Norway for the socialists

A new civil war would be a lot different as it would be between cultures in the same area, perhaps multiple factions, and not by geographical region. This would really be ugly.

Children were told to ‘build the wall’ at White House Halloween party

WASHINGTON — A Halloween party on Oct. 25 at the Eisenhower Executive Office Building featured candy, paper airplanes and — concerning for some attendees — a station where children were encouraged to help “Build the Wall” with their own personalized bricks.

Photos of the children’s mural with the paper wall were provided to Yahoo News.

The party, which took place inside the office building used by White House staff, included the families of executive-branch employees and VIP guests inside and outside government. Even though many of the attendees were members of President Trump’s administration, not everyone thought the Halloween game was a treat.

Americans are way too lazy and comfortable for a Civil War. At worst, it'd be a bad spate of domestic terrorism and maybe a couple of nut job militias who get their ass handed to them in a day or two.
