I don't know exactly what you're getting at but it's pretty obvious that the Trump and Russia thing is not over. There is no reason to "lock this thread." There are going to be all kinds of Trump and Russia things in the news for the foreseeable future.

Again: Mueller did not address the question of "collusion." He did not say there was no cooperation between anybody in the Trump campaign and Russians. In fact he documented a lot of interaction. And that's going to be in the news. The Democrats are going to hold hearings on it. It's going to continue.

So basically, in the balance, we will drone on as if nothing happened, bickering over inappropriate behaviors all around. While Russia feels no pain

This is what I have been predicting from the start. Nothing really big happens to anyone. Of course it's not much of a prediction, just the way it goes for the political class in America.

Be interesting to see how WaPo, NYT, MSNBC and CNN start painting the Russian interference as legendary and if it wasn't for the heroic (patriotic) efforts of our DOJ and FBI, we'd all be speaking Russian by now.

This is why I agree with focusing on predicate. Don't have to battle all that revisionist history on "intentions".

The Dems will holler and scream about Barr doing this... but let's see if their judgment is REALLY bad - if they go after Durham. The guy is pretty much unimpeachable and has done yeoman work benefitting both sides of the aisle

And that will be the legacy from all of this, Red Scare 2016 aside. I don't like Trump even a little bit, but it's beyond ironic (actually criminal) that the side that went on and on about Trump's win would mean the end of the Republic weren't referring to Trump himself, but to what they were doing against Trump in the election and what they tried to do after he won the election. You just can't brush aside laws and integrity simply because you don't like who got elected. Sure, that kind of stuff happens everyday, but it rarely happens in elections for President.

It won’t be the slam dunk the Trumpies are hoping for (Clinton or O’s NSA in the dock) but there will be an additional early retirement or two from the FBI

DNI and Gina Haspel are working with Barr as we speak - and that is a big deal ... especially when you consider the love between Langley and FBI

This might be more interesting than the Muellerganza
