Well the Venezuelans know that now. Maybe the next ship they buy will be a bit heavier built.......

That or pick a captain that isn't trying to make some money on the side. :coffee:

New video footage shows when a Venezuelan naval vessel and German cruise ship collide, which causes the warship to sink because the liner had a hull that was reinforced for crashing through ice.

A seaman aboard the patrol boat Naiguata is seen at the beginning of the footage firing an AK-47 at the RGCS Resolute from Germany last Monday

The heavily edited footage released by the Venezuelan Navy shows the warship at one point facing the cruise ship head on.

That's in the city of Chicago. This happened in Arlington Heights which is about as suburban as a suburb can be.

This is from a "Letter to the Editor".....

Donald Trump has decided to invite himself to a graduation ceremony at the U.S. Military Academy at West Point even though it had already been canceled.

This will involve the recall of 1,000 members of the graduating class from all over the United States and its territories to come back to West Point, who have already been released for active duty, for what is expected to be a 30-minute event.

Due to unnecessary travel, this will dangerously expose all of these young men and women to the coronavirus, not to mention the immense expense to taxpayers and incredible inconvenience for the cadets and their families.

As a parent, I can’t imagine how concerned and alarmed the cadet’s families must be.

I have never worked for a commander in my 30-year Army career who would have ever considered putting his or her troops in harm’s way for personal gain. This is appalling and every American should be raising their voices in opposition.

I don't know the details around all of this. I thought the cadets were still taking virtual classes - their graduation wasn't until late May? Are they already out on active duty? Assuming they aren't coming back from active posts in the field or additional training, shouldn't the wishes of the cadets be of more importance here? I get this sense with anything Trump is that the moment Trump makes his position known, there's a reflexive response from those who viscerally dislike him to automatically take the opposite position. The cadets from the Air Force (the senior class was still on base in that case - both West Point and Annapolis had their students stay home rather than come back from Spring Break) seemed to like that they got to go through their commencement, even though it was virtual for their parents and they had to stay 6 ft apart.

I might dig around a little. I actually know a graduating cadet. He went to K-12 with 89Jr and his father coached with me.

Oyster and mussel farts may be a global warming issue according to European scientists...
Plans to expand aquatic farming could have a serious knock-on effect on climate change, climate experts have warned after new research revealed that underwater shellfish farts produce 10% of the global-warming gases released by the Baltic Sea.

A study published in the Scientific Reports journal shows that clams, mussels and oysters produce one-tenth of methane and nitrous oxide gases in the Baltic Sea as a result of digestion. Therefore, researchers have warned that shellfish “may play an important but overlooked role in regulating greenhouse gas production
”.

Despite millions of years of oyster and mussel farts, the study says the growing human population of the earth and the growth of aquatic farming mean it could now be an issue...

The Pulitzer Prize committee just made it that much harder to try and argue there is no entrenched liberal bias in media by giving a commentary prize to NYT's Project 1619 nonsense.

Believe science and experts until they criticize your social justice alternative facts, I suppose.

My wish for you Pwns
I wish you could spend the rest of your life as a black woman with no opportunity
that is my wish for you - and I know you believe your "soul" is immortal - so I hope maybe you come back as a poor black female

That would be the dose of karma you need to help you stop congratulating yourself on spotting outrageous "black hyperflexion"

I know those uppity black folk are overreaching and getting undue awards for lazy reasoning
but does it really make you feel better to be there to slap them back down ?
