Yes. There is zero evidence scientific or otherwise that the economy is only impacted by shutting down.

Can We Discuss Flatten-the-Curve in COVID19? My Eight Assertions
Excellent and informed (he's a doctor, we have to believe him) commentary. What was once flatten the curve to prevent over-running hospitals has changed to flatten the curve to save lives. Some likened moderation of social distancing to human sacrifice.
That change in framing, I believe, is misleading. I will argue that the cumulative deaths from COVID19 will not be reduced significantly by flatten-the-curve policies. And that this virus will be as dangerous to vulnerable patients in 6 months to a year. We should be allowed to debate this.
My case has eight assertions ...

Re: Coronavirus COVID-19
While I'll concede the point that the virus itself impacts the economy, the effect, when measured against the effect of tens of thousands of businesses going under and 25-30 million people suddenly unemployed it's like a gnat on the windshield....worrying about the impact of the virus itself is like rearranging deck chairs on the Titanic after it's hit the iceberg.UNI88 wrote: ↑Wed May 06, 2020 2:58 pmPeople getting sick and dying impacts the economy whether they're retired or not. Every person who dies is one less consumer. Every worker who dies means their production is lost. Sick people consume healthcare resources. People dying means that wealth is redistributed and people who inherit money might change their consumption (buy a car or a house). A virus impacts the economy in positive and negative ways, it might be a blip compared to the "closure" but it is an impact.

I don't disagree. I was simply responding to 89's assertion that "The virus doesn't impact the economy."AZGrizFan wrote: ↑Wed May 06, 2020 3:19 pmWhile I'll concede the point that the virus itself impacts the economy, the effect, when measured against the effect of tens of thousands of businesses going under and 25-30 million people suddenly unemployed it's like a gnat on the windshield....worrying about the impact of the virus itself is like rearranging deck chairs on the Titanic after it's hit the iceberg.UNI88 wrote: ↑Wed May 06, 2020 2:58 pm

Chairman Mao Thought was a term used during the Cultural Revolution, referring to Mao’s writings in the Little Red Book.
There have been some references to “Chairman Xi Thought” recently in domestic Chinese media as he is being given powers not seen since Mao was Chairman of the CCP

Coronavirus COVID-19
Well let’s review:Silenoz wrote:The thought of Chinese propaganda spreading like wildfire through the unwashed masses is your own personal trigger, got it.
1) Your post is factually established to be the output of the propaganda arm of the CCP
2) You re-posted it on a public forum (because it was teh funnay)
That makes you a drone
¯\_(ツ)_/¯ and 3) Yes, people who aid and abet our enemies do irritate me

He’s supporting points we’ve both made.

Probably refers to being able to communicate with physicians, without have to physically expose others or be exposed to disease during medical visits. Virtual visits, email and medical website messaging.

With each day that Drumpf stays in the Covid spotlight, his re-election chances drop. The DNC folks are doing cartwheels....while keeping Grampa Joe locked in a DE basement.
