Read Guns, Germs, and Steel. It had nothing to do with how inherently dumb/smart/motivated they were, and vice-versa. :coffee:
Phenominal book GATW. :thumb:

Alpha, you're totally ignoring the coastal tribes who relied upon annual anadromous fish runs, whale hunting, shellfish, and berries to forge a non-nomadic, sedentary lifestyle and sustainable lifestyle.

Now the plains indians - totally raped the land and thus ended up fat and lazy like you and I.

I dont care about anything on the coasts....nobody does.

Agreed on the plains Indians.

Thumper, who cares if people think your a racist? The only person you need to be accountable to is yourself, if you know who you are let them call you names all day. Only really stupid mutherfu*kers call people racist and its usually because they are losing an argument.

IMO the only way a person can truly be racist is by causing PHYSICAL harm to someone because of their race. Everything else is merely semantics.

I know, because I am internet black.

Had this country been a group of pale people I doubt we would be hearing as much people crying racist at us.
You don't have to feel guilty... you have no reason to. I don't think anyone's telling you that you should feel guilty... and if you don't... you're a racist.

I think what this thread is about is some **** bigot that believes Native Americans are "morally disqualified to govern." That's racism. No?
All I said was there are racist that live near the reservations, aka "No Indians Allowed" painted on buildings in Scenic South Dakota when I filled up with gas there, living in Devils Lake, ND and seeing how the locals treated the Natives and a completely different story living in Hastings, MN and seeing the Casino employ thousands of people, but the Natives are still despised by the locals.

My point, that no one is getting, is that there are many people that are suffering through crime, drugs, alcohol and poverty. The government assistance they are getting is not working. When I lived in Omaha, I had a good friend that grew up on the Pine Ridge Res. He had a lot of stories of getting beat by drunk parents, seeing all the adults in the community doing the same thing. Joining the drinking party at an early age. He got out, has a nice family, good job, but still had a battle staying away from the fire-water. IMO, more is done for the innner-city than for people on the reservations, and I'm sure it's because there are more votes in the inner-city.

Being part Cherokee and growing up on the Res are worlds apart.

pine ridge is like a third world country... there is NO economy there... I was more concerned for my safety there than I was in the worst neighborhoods of Chicago or Philly...
