Yeah. CNN fucked up. They retracted the story and fired those responsible. News agencies make mistakes. Fake News stands by their stories despite them being demonstrably false. Has Breitbart News ever retracted an article?

And, real news is pretty open to corrections. Washington Post updated a story from Spicer hiding "in the bushes" to Spicer hiding "among the bushes" after the White House pressed for a clarification.

I mean... half of y'all believe the Clintons killed a couple dozen people. Hannity is still pushing the Seth Rich story...

And, again. Is the Loretta Lynch - Bill Clinton tarmac story fake news? Do we have solid evidence that something nefarious or illegal took place?

Is it still worthy of investigation and a story worth publishing? I believe it is. Y'all must not. :coffee:

JSN, as one of the few remaining believers in this Russian nonsense, you need to go to the nearest supermarket to buy some Reynolds wrap to make your foil hat.

Is Hannity still pushing that story? I listen to him on my afternoon commute, for the entertainment value, and since the family asked him to stop (and advertisers have pulled support) he hasn't pushed any agenda. I think he's mentioned the name but hasn't mentioned the alleged plot to murder him.

I'm glad you mentioned that. You do not know if there is evidence of collusion. And you have had Adam Schiff say there is evidence of conclusion.

https://www.realclearpolitics.com/video ... dence.html

And he's seen stuff we haven't seen.

Now, he's obviously partisan so I can understand withholding judgement.

But this thing where people keep saying "there is no evidence of collusion" is not known to be valid. There is an investigation going on. We don't know what the evidence is. We don't know what the FBI and/or the special prosecutor has.

All we know is that they are investigating the matter. That means they at least have some reason for doing so. See?

CNN has not said there is evidence of conclusion. They're reported that there is an investigation into that matter. And that's true. They've reported that Adam Schiff says he thinks there is evidence of collusion. And that's true. They have him on video saying so.

There's no "fake news" from CNN in that area.

What, if the FBI is investigating the question are they not supposed to report that? Or if the top Democrat on the House Intelligence Committee says what he says about it are they not supposed to report that?

Yeah. That's just consistent with my oft stated opinion that we have a person in the President's position right now who has serious emotional maturity and stability problems. Let's just hope we can get through his tenure without that causing a catastrophe.

Just saw the epitome of liberal quotes on TV.

Story was about the opioid epidemic and Medicaid cuts, focusing on Akron, OH, specifically a clinic administering monthly doses of Vivitrol (at cost of $1,200 a pop to taxpayers) to smackheads.

Some ex (and probably future) heroin junkie female says, when asked what she'd say to Congress, "Please don't do it. You'll have the blood of a lot of innocent people on your hands."

So, drug addicts are "innocent people" now?

I saw that report (cbs)...about gagged...

Junkies have learned that more and more police departments are carrying naloxone, which can stop an overdose in its tracks...

Problem is, junkies know this fact, and cops are reporting seeing the same people more and more...one town in Ohio has administered the drug to a number of people more than once...

So some cities are debating a "three strikes and you're out" rule...you can get naloxone twice...after that, you are on your own...

Overdoses outnumber those for heroin and cocaine combined. 50% of young heroin users tried prescription drugs first.

JFC, kalm. You are like cable news now.

Here is what you typed:
50% of young heroin users tried prescription drugs first.

Here is the quote from the article you linked:
Nearly half of young people who inject heroin surveyed in three recent studies reported abusing prescription opioids before starting to use heroin.

Why did you soften this? They "abused" the prescription drugs, which puts the blame squarely on them.

BTW, thanks for the numbers. :thumb:

JFC yourself! It wasn't intentional and it doesn't change anything. There are a shit ton (hard news fact right there) of well intentioned, law abiding people who get addicted to pain killers. There is a correlation between their rise in demand and the heroin epidemic.

Why can't these people be like all the normal kids who just try a substance and avoid abusing it? I mean it's not as though they're addictive like those spooky "illegal" drugs are.

Don't get me wrong. I haven't formed a strong opinion on this yet. I realize that people have gone from prescription drugs to illegal drugs. I was genuinely curious about what the numbers might be.
And I blame doctors, or at least the system (read malpractice lawyers), for a part of this problem.

But you have to admit that your choice of words looks like an attempt to soften. :kisswink:

Dayton police have revived one overdose patient 20 times

One east Dayton man has been revived by nalaxone 20 times by police, but a Dayton police major still doesn’t agree with a Middletown politician suggesting law enforcement stop responding to opioid overdoses.

“We’ve Narcan’d the same guy 20 times,” Dayton police Major Brian Johns said. “There has to be some sort of mechanism or place for people like that. If you’re not going to get help, we’re going to require you to get some sort of treatment going. Because that is a waste of police resources.”

My father got addicted in the 90s to Vicodin following a surgery. He never did anything crazy like blow all his money or anything like that. But he certainly wasn't a junkie. He just got comfortable with the pain killers and was fortunate enough to have someone (my mother) to tell him he was too dependent on them.

Having said that, from the little i've read, the Opioid epidemic (not including Heroin) is a big issue with the baby boomers. I read that...in an AARP magazine at my inlaws last weekend. So....take it for what it's worth.
