I genuinely tried being a centrist. I tried understanding the right's POV. I tried to give and take.

And what did I get? Getting called a libtard, labeled as evil and morally corrupt, labeled as hating America. So fuck it. Liberals have been trying to compromise for way too long.

It's time to fight fire with fire. :fuel:
Let the war begin.

It's been far too long in the making. I welcome it. I welcome liberals finally being honest about their intentions.

I understand your POV - but what exactly have liberals been trying to compromise on? Both parties yield to their extremists and it's been detrimental.

Do you mean liberals or Democrats? Democrats have compromised on quite a bit.

Speaking of which, what if a person is a post-partisan, centrist, liberal?

HAH HAH HAH GTF OUT OF TOWN

NOBODY COMPROMISES, DUDE

And the last big compromise I know of was when Reagan offered to sign off on an amnesty in return for a border security bill - and he did the amnesty in good faith. Guess what happened next? (And guess who’s gonna be triggered)

Maybe a close second was when Bubba tilted right on welfare reform

So basically, you got called names, you’re mad, therefore full left tilt

Brilliant strategy, hope it works out for you... but here’s a pro tip: come armed with facts when you show up for your sandy vagina jihad

Then you weren't a centrist, and frankly, that isn't too shocking considering what you've posted here recently. I've been a centrist for years now and I don't remember being called anything derogatory on either side of the aisle (donk/conk). But then again, I'm actually a centrist/moderate.

Please, the right's become so insane that reasonable environmental and business policies, universal healthcare, and civil right issues trigger them. They're terrified of a progressing world and scared their children will actually have to compete to make it out there. And most of all, scared of the free press and truth. Cons live in a fantasy world they've created for themselves.

All they do is gaslight, obstruct, and project.

President Obama even nominated a centrist judge for the SCOTUS and they couldn't even vote for him.

ps. you're a good one. :thumb:

And as a tried and true leftist (use whatever term you want to use) partisan you've convinced yourself that the other side (i.e. whoever disagrees with you) is 100% wrong on everything they believe and, even beyond being wrong, are reprehensible people with evil motives who are wrong simply because they are completely evil. If it makes you feel any better, that's exactly what partisans on the other side of the aisle are like, so you're a lot more like those folks you denigrate than you like to think you are. That's called irony.

See my post - I'm not upset at all, his robotic, parroted response is completely predictable. As a centrist, I've learned to live with the unthinking partisans on both sides of the aisle. And I've even learned to live with you kalmie. It's what centrists do. You're welcome. :thumb:

The conservative goalpost is so far off the field today that they think the 50 yard line is liberals trying to destroy America. They walked across a bridge that their parents built to the promise land, burned it down behind them, and now judge people for not being able to fly.

I'm fine with conservatives; I'm NOT fine with what conservatives have become.

Cons used to want progress as long as it could be paid for. Now they neither make progress nor can pay for things. Hell, I would've made a great conservative back in the day.

Now they just loot the house and mock us for having broken windows.

Universal healthcare. :ohno: :ohno:
The answer is JOBS. I can't say this enough. It's the answer for a lot of things.
People with jobs can pay for their own healthcare. And have the incentive to take better care of themselves through lower premiums.

Don't disagree, but capitalism that better spreads the benefits of productivity is the answer.

Jobs are a sub-point to the one I just made.

ps. Many people with jobs couldn't afford healthcare before the ACA.

You're fucked in the head. I know plenty of people with jobs who are dirt poor now because of ACA.

More people came out on the losing end because of the ACA.
But let's not focus on the poorly designed ACA.
Let's focus on the idea of rights. Should healthcare be a right? What about potable water service and sewer service? Can't survive without water, right? How about heat or air conditioning? Too hot or too cold can kill people. How about free public transportation and free gasoline where public transportation is not available?
Where does it end?

Most people will only do what they feel they need to do, and nothing more. It's their nature. The more you give, the more they will take, and the less they will do.

Yes to all. As the productivity of a nation increases, the benefits of that productivity should increase with it. This is progress. A fruitful society should enjoy the fruits; this includes jobs, healthcare, water, etc.

Unfortunately, there's a reason the wealth gap is the largest it's ever been since the Gilded Age. There should be no reason teachers have to work second jobs. Or if workers want to unionize, laws against it.

We're not an unproductive society; in fact we are the most productive we've ever been and arguably the most innovative as well. And yet, too many Americans are barely getting by.

ps. The ACA needs an overhaul; I have no qualms saying that.

Well I respectfully disagree.
I don't want to pull the "experience" card, but the more you live, the more people you come in contact with. What you see is that it is human nature to "do the minimum".
Take the shopping cart. Lazy people stopped returning it to the store, so the store purchased and set up corrals in the parking lot (and some people are too lazy to use those). Well, now the store has to get an employee to retrieve the carts, and in some cases, purchase equipment that aid the process. All of this cost money that is turned around and charged to all customers.

Take rules and laws. The only reason we have them is because there are people that are assholes and can't "do the right thing". So now we have to go through the process of creating rules and laws so that these assholes can be held accountable. Rule #478: Do not compliment a coworker on her hair.
