I'll take a prez like that any day.

As always, you can lick my wrinkled grommet if you don't agree with me.

:coffee:
Dubya never pulled the race card and had it blow up in his face before.
Obama didn't pull the race card, either, Seattle, so WTF you talkin' about? LMAO about "blowing up in his face", too! It was handled masterfully after the mispoken words which had nothing to with race!

It wasn't that he was just another uppity nig, it was that he was acting nigg--ish, the man is trying to bring me down, I don't have to do anything bull ****, woah is the black man. Until white people aren't all targeted by black as racists, I'll believe it, but it is about time some people learn most white peopel don't give a flying **** what color your skin is, and if they did, you can sure as **** bet a kenyan wouldn't be in the white house.
When you get arrested and jailed on your own property I'll side with you on this one...
Until then... there's more at play here

BOTH individuals wanted respect and neither was giving any ground - and that should never be the reason for arresting cuffing and jailing a citizen on their own property in their own home...

 sorry... I ain't having any of that...
If I understand what each of you is saying, you both bring up legitimate points. IMO:
- WR is correct in that when investigating a potential break-in the police should ask for an ID that confirms the person's address.
- Cleets is correct to wonder whether the officer would have arrested a white person given the exact same circumstances.
Being wrong about a topic is called post partisanism - kalm

MAQA - putting the Q into qrazy qanon qult qonspiracy theories since 2015.

It will probably be difficult for MAQA yahoos to overcome the Qult programming but they should give being rational & reasonable a try.

Obama is a genius. Refreshing effort, humility and honesty.

Give him time. He's going to be one of our greatest presidents.
"Sarah Palin absolutely blew AWAY the audience tonight. If there was any doubt as to whether she was savvy enough, tough enough or smart enough to carry the mantle of Vice President, she put those fears to rest tonight. She took on Barack Obama DIRECTLY on every issue and exposed... She did it with warmth and humor, and came across as the every-person....it's becoming mroe and more clear that she was a genius pick for McCain."

People need to stop focusing on what color the cop and professor are, why should that matter?

What should matter in this country is what people do, how people act, and what they stand for. Not the color of their skin.
The problem is that you have a positive feedback loop with negative racial attitudes. You have incidents like the OJ trial (whether or not you think he was guilty, the fact is the race issue was allowed to take over whereas they should have stuck with the evidence), the Duke Lacrosse case, and all the successful lawsuits that proved that affirmative action programs have resulted in lesser qualified minorities being admitted into education programs over more qualified whites. These things result in less sympathy by whites for problems that are legitimate and not imagined by victim mentality. When there's less sympathy for black people, black people get their feelings hurt (as anyone would in that situation) and are less likely to recognize a good bit of the blame for black social problems are not the fault of racism or whites. This leads to more incidents like ones aforementioned. Repeat process. :shake: :shake:

I've got to hand it to Obama for this one. Obama acted stupidly by injecting the race issue into something that was supposed to be about healthcare, but I think he has done as well as you can do to keep this whole incident from being part of this vicious cycle.
Do you really want to say that about less qualified minorities? That statement in bold interpreted by me. All whites are more qualified to be in college than any other minority.

Take a gander at MY high school resume.
1) Ranked in the Top 20 in the my high school graduating class. Class size 119.
2) The only Black male to be accepted into the National Honor Society in 1996.
3) In 1995, I was invited to a conference of The Distinguished African-American High School Seniors of Kentucky. I was the one of only 10 students to be invited that came from a predominately white high school.
4) Had a cumulative GPA of 3.25
5) Scored a 21 on the ACT. A 27 on the math portion. A weak score on the English part brought it down.
6) I was a member of group of economically disadvantaged high school students called Educational Talent Search. Among the 8 high schools in the region that I was from. I one of the 30 student chosen to go to Washington DC to visit Howard University as a reward for high academic success. Unfortunately, I couldn't go because on the previous day it snowed 13 inches at my house! I took it like an 18 yo man and graduated with high honors.
7) Not one but 5 universities highly wanted me to atend (WKU, Mercer, Murray State, Truman State, and Austin Peay).

If this is not a resume of a guy that doesn't deserve a college scholarship then you are the biggest FUCKTARD that ever lived and needs to be an honorary member of the KKK!

You took that bolded part wrong, and he was right with his entire post.

A lot of the problem is whites got sick of the minorities playing the race card when it shouldn't have been. This makes whites feel less sorry for minorities when the race card is really an issue.

There are also places who will give a job, grad assistant ship, scholarship, etc... to a lesser qualified minority because of the appearance of it, and not wanted to be called a racist and have that trouble drag through.

Granted there are are also places who do the opposite and give it to the white person because he/she is white.

I went to Wartburg College my first year of college and got no Fin. Aid. I got a 22 ACT, and a low math score hurt me but I was over 22 on every other portion I think. I had a 3.6 GPA in HS, top 20 in my class, etc, etc... I got no aid. However, there were people on the football team, who were black, that had a 2.5 HS GPA, 18 ACT, lower 1/4th of their class that got full rides....for being a minority. I kid you not, two of them showed me their award letter and it said "Minority Scholarship". That is the thing that pisses white people off.

Sara has a 4.0 GPA in her masters program, got into the Practicum course early based on performance, got accepted to all 8 grad schools she applied too, including 3 of the top 5 grad schools in America in her field of study, etc... She applied for a grad assistantship but didn't get it. This wouldn't be a big deal but the person who got it was a minority, again not a big deal, that had just been admitted to the program, undergrad GPA wasn't as good as anyone else in the program, and a couple other things. However, turns out she got it because the program didn't want to give off the "we don't like minorities" look so they gave it to her

It is hard for me to find any sympathy for whites because perception amongst everyone is white is "perfection" and blacks are simply the "underachievers". I had to work 5,000X harder than every other white to get a "good job" or "I'm so proud of you". I busted my ass to get that 3.25 GPA and that Top 20! At least you have other options, blacks don't and that is the difference. Blacks don't have a safety net when everything crashes down. When we fail, that's it! There is no such thing as 2nd chances. Yes, I did get a minority based scholarship, but believe me I didn't get it because of sympathy. I got it on MERIT! My accolades prove it.

Why should my genetics stop me from reaching for the stars? Just because my GPA wasn't as good. I will never get ahead if that's the case. Why should I even exist if the one higher GPA gets an apprenticeship over me? I will never be good enough in any white person's eye. Why should I even try then? Why should I care to be great if white is what's right? No wonder why black people don't believe it when racism is over.

What do I have to fall back on if everything crashes around me? I have nothing if that happens. Wait...I will have over $60,000 in student loans to pay back if everything collapses on me, I'm sure that the loan companies will give me a break because I'm white. I busted my ass for my grades too, and for everything I've ever gotten. I have never once been handed anything in my life other than my parents giving me 20 bucks for gas when I drive home.

Sara busts her ass for that 4.0 GPA...she hasn't had a break from reading texts books non-stop, writting papers, etc... since she graduated from her undergrad. She is more deserving than the lady that got the assitantship, but shit like that happens. Why should she get that instead of a black person who doesn't have the same GPA, hasn't been published in a national counseling magazine (Sara has), hasn't been accepted to a program early based on performance, etc...

Why shouldn't I be angry when I had better grades, more extra-curriculars, etc... than a guy going into college and he gets a full ride just because he is black and I get nothing?

Cap'n, I know I need more life experiences, and I know not everything will go the way I want/think it should. I'm not going to mope and blame the system or the man for the minorities for getting them based on the color of their skin...I can live with that. It just makes me bust my ass more to prove I did deserve something.

I hate it when minorities pull the I'll never get a head because whitey is trying to keep me down shit.

I know not all minorities meet the stereotypes, to pull a line from Chris Rock "Niggers are fucking it up for the black people in America"

Like hires like. When the employer is white and I'm black, who do you think they are going to hire? I'm a dangerous black man and when I lose the rest of my weight everyone else will know why. Every interview that I have ever had, except for one, the interviewer has been white. I've only been hired 1/4 of the time. That is an awful rate. Despite being an overachieving, fat, black man. :shake: :shake:

Now don't go nuts, Hounder. Many companies like mine would commit murder to hire a black man and, not to meet some quota or just to "feel good" about hiring a minority person, no, it's because we believe some diversity would do our culture good. Sh*t, I'm the only hiring manager here and I already discriminate against smokers, skate punks, slackers and skinheads. Discriminatin' against you would be a pain in the ass!

We're just not finding any qualified minorities in central Wisconsin (none apply). None have applied at corporate, either. Very few in the food industry, actually, at least up North.

But, regardless, don't assume people don't want to hire a black person. Maybe a change of scenery would do you good? Get the fvck outta Kentucky and go to Denver or Minneapolis or Pittsburgh, Chicago - somewhere in the United States, I guess I'm saying.

I think it's despicable, honestly, that that type of thing goes on in America. Racism of all kinds, white on black, black on white (which seems to be accepted), white on white, black on black, white on mexican, etc..., is wrong. I hate the fact it happens but I don't see it ending anytime soon sadly

Believe me I want to in the worst possible way. That requires money that I don't have at the moment. With the weight loss that I'm doing that is part of the plan. I am covering all my bases to make sure that I make it hard for an employer to use appearance as an excuse.

The food industry is one of the last places that I need to apply to. I definitely understand clenz's POV. I just hope he understands mine. :)

I completely understand you POV, and like I said when I quoted Chris Rock, you are one of the good ones. Hopefully I can turn out to be one of the good white ones.

I need to find that Chris Rock piece, I don't know if any of you have saw it or not.

 I wish it was that simple. :D

It is that simple, the majority of white people voted Hussein Obama into office.

Hardly racist

(97% of your 13% voted for Hussein Obama)

Very racist

I will try to make it as short as possible.

When I started WKU I was a Math major, but it required a minor and had no idea at the time. About 1 1/2 years into it I dropped Math as a major because I didn't want to do equations for the rest of my life. I decided to finish out my stay at WKU with a Geography major with a minor in Econ. I graduated with a BS in Geography in 2001!

When graduating from college I had to get a job right away so that I can pay back student loans. So being from Kentucky wasn't exactly the most profitable state to find a job in the field. I settled on a call center job in Clarksville, TN. Several years after that job I worked for H&R Block for two seasons and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I just hated the fact that it was temporary.

Numbers has been a huge passion of mine for years and Statistics or Accouning would have been awesome for me. I took as many statistics classes as possible as electives. I wish WKU had a statistics major, I would have jumped on that full steam ahead. They had accounting at WKU but I had to jump through too many hoops to get there. I didn't want to feel like a circus dog, so I decided to pass on the Accounting.

I was so frustrated that I just ate the pain away and hence the terrible state that I'm in today. 84 lbs lost so far proves that I still have some life in these 31 year old bones. So that's my story. Ball is in your court now.

She is more deserving than the lady that got the assitantship, but **** like that happens.

I hate it when minorities pull the I'll never get a head because whitey is trying to keep me down ****.

I know not all minorities meet the stereotypes, to pull a line from Chris Rock "Niggers are **** it up for the black people in America"
Reread the Chris Rock quote: I finally got it now! I need to go on youtube to relieve some of the racism stress.
