do you really think it's possible to negotiate in good faith with these assholes? really? more than that is the principle of the thing... we didn't negotiate with the japanese, and rightly so.

what i'm saying is, you can't engage in "nation building" in a place that isn't a nation... you can only stand back and keep it in check... it's the same way i truly believe terrorism cannot ever be defeated, you just have to remain vigilant and fight it at the roots as much as at the tops...

Remember this guy? That strategy was fairly effective in dealing with him in Iraq.

are you fucking kidding?

The Taliban - led by Mullah Mohammed Omar... INVITED BIN LADEN TO AFGHANISTAN. Fuckers provided the support infrastructure for the 9-11 plotters... the blood of 3,000 Americans is on their hands, every bit as much as it is on the hands of Kahlid Sheikh Mohammed, Osama Bin Laden and Al Zwahiri...

Same TTBF - still filled with the same resolve as I ever was. We made a mistake in calling this a war. This, is a fight. A fight with enemies who don't play by the rules, who target civilians and who won't stop until either one of us is dead. That, is a fight we don't lose. Period. We can never truly "win" the fight either, but wage it on many fronts and press the advantages that we have.

You attack the roots of terrorism, by doing what you can and what you ought to, to bring shared prosperity and self-determination to desperate people - people with skin in the game are a lot harder to recruit to extremism. (and before every conk on the board says i'm embracing the bush doctrine... i'm not, he failed in one key way... invading and occupying Iraq - the wrong way to go about achieving the goal that i believe the bush admin had to bring about the change we're now starting to see in the middle east) but when you find terrorists, you root them out like the malignant growth that they are - you do not negotiate with those who seek to only to destroy you.

All of that being said - the one way to surely lose the fight, is to compromise who we are. To devolve to the level of our enemies would be to create a Pyrrhic victory. Which is why we do things like burying our enemies as their religion proscribes... because put simply: we are better than them.

Disgusting...and jellyboy doesn't even get it.

Hey, forget our men and women who are dying for nothing...they don't mean anything. What is important is for Obama to be able to look good and get re-elected.

Instead of being a leader and pulling our troops out, Obama and his team have been letting our soldiers die in Afghanistan so that Obama can find the best time for his political gain to pull them out.

Correction, this was a crime, not a war.

Should have been handled like a crime from the start, and it would have been long over by now with no boots on the ground in either Iraq or Afghanistan.

But it wasn't, and here we are.

Not saying I agree with them, but they do have a point. There was no trial of any kind. I'm thinking Geneva might agree with them.

The irony that they can be up in arms about Bin Laden being "murdered" but celebrate the innocent slaughter of 3,000 civilians in America in one day can't possibly escape you. :coffee:
