Yep. As much as I don't trust the Democratic Party, there's a chance that Trump's antics are energizing younger people to vote and their turnout might significantly spike in 2020.

I think something like the homosexual marriage thing is an example of that. I personally am opposed to the idea of homosexual marriage. So who’s your pick in the Donk primary field, John? I’m sure you’ll change your registration to Donk by the Louisiana deadline. You probably like Klobuchar. Just a guess.
Regardless of how I feel about her I think that she is going to be a tough nut for the corporate DNC to crack especially if she can use Bernie as a stalking horse. I thought she managed to look pretty senatorial while Kavanugh was crying like baby in the SCOTUS hearings.

Hell I’d settle for a moderate Dem if the only complaint is she’s hard on her staff

But again, she ain’t what the Dems want and her pander dial isn’t set to 11

Yes, in terms of who I personally would pick among the Democrats to announce for far, I would pick Klobuchar. I will not change my party registration to Democrat or Republican. I've had reasons to consider leaving the Libertarian Party but if I did I'd just be "no party" or some other party I haven't found yet.

Years ago I identified the Constitutionalist Party...not to be confused with the Constitution Party...as a possibility. But I think it's defunct. I can't find anything about it on line anymore.

She point blank said in a recent town hall that we can’t pay for free college and medicare for all ... (the look on the face of the ignoramus kid who asked her is priceless)

That means she’s an economic realist. A pretty good starting point as far as Im concerned

She likely wouldnt get my vote but she’s a palatable alternative to the rest of the Dem field who are currently trying to out-Trump Trump

Naw, young folk will be energized for one of the leftists that the DNC will never allow to win the nomination, then not turn out when their horse "loses". See Sanders, Bernie (2016).

My wife, a life long Democrat told me this just now

"I heard the Democrats are talking about reparations...if that's true i'm voting for any Republican not named Trump."

QQ - being that my wife is the great-great granddaughter of a slave, does she qualify for reparations? Does my daughter?

Nah - she thinks having a bunch of people that never owned a slaves pay people who were never slaves is ridiculous. She's rational. :thumb:

Not every black person in the country came from slaves. Not every white person came from a slave owning family. It would be a massive cluster fuck to try and identify the descendants of slaves and slave owners AND then it would be an even bigger cluster fuck to tell those white people that they have to pay for something some great-great-great-great grandfather did 200 years ago. The time for reparations was immediately after the war.

Personally,I don't see it ever happening. there are way too many problems and challenges that will come up. It's a pandering issue that legitimate politicians should shoot down whenever it's mentioned.

Now - if a slave is still alive then sure - let's help that person out. But I don't think we'll see any former slaves come forward.

Not worried. They would have to remember to vote first and so far they have had a hard time thinking past the last fax outrage taking twitter by storm.

I was actually a liberal before I went to Harvard. That experience pushed me about 120 degrees to the right.

No lie - I met a kid name Oneeighty (180) and when I asked about why he was named that it was because "when my parents had me, they turned their lives around."
