What? The debate is whether man can do anything about it. It doesn't take much to determine if sea level rise will be a problem.
Okay... but if it's a cycle we don;t need to "do" anything
sure, the debate is varied
but its certainly not about "IF" the earth is warming

What's in dispute is if the warming trend is indeed a cycle or a problem
That is the debate

Nobody is debating "if the globe is warming"
because we have these things called thermometers since about 1700

What is also fascinating is that "pockets" of land mass are getting colder in winter and hotter in summer
and being effected by new wind patterns (see: Iowa and Central Europe)
but overall the earth temperatures are rising

Bullshit, it's not a debate there is nothing we are doing to change climate. Our atmosphere is too voluminous for us to effect. The earth does what it does and even setting off nuclear warheads we couldn't tick it in any direction

I think we all already know what camp you're in...

I was simply pointing out that your large yellow poster is not correct - the Earth is warming

The debate isn't if its warming
the debate is can we do anything about it

I'm sympathetic to people's feelings. I really am. If I know someone wanted to be called something other than he/she, then I would do it. But if I don't know, and I call a person he/she, that person better not get pissed off at me while correcting me. **** that person for not understanding that the neon **** sign on the top of its head is not lit.

So I asked my wife and son how many nametags did they notice that read something other than he/she. They didn't notice any. Probably only saw 50 of the 500 or so.
I completely agree with you. It's really no skin off my back so I try and accommodate people but I'm going to occasionally get it wrong and I don't really need a snowflake/cupcake getting upset because of a mistake.

I'm actually trying to be helpful...
I've dialed my SMUG factor down two notches

informing the uninformed as to exactly what the actual debate in global warming is
it's alarming how many are still confused about what we're arguing

Calling it a Chinese hoax isn't particularly helpful either
especially when both opinions on the actual debate are valid
The only invalid position is the "it isn't real" position

Yes, but many on the other side consider it settled science and there is no room for debate. Like you and abortion. 8-)

The problem with “the debate” is that nobody is on the same page but everybody is on the wrong page

The climate hoaxers/deniers/whatever aren’t convinced that climate change is anthropogenic

The climate change proponents/alarmists/whatever are past that and have moved on to the actual effects

But the people trying to tell us what the effects are going to be are as fact challenged as the people who don’t buy into AGW in the first place... and in fact the ignorance of the deniers is reinforced by the ignorance of the hockey stickers

Let’s face it -

Whatever the effects are, we are going to get them full force

Oh I get that those that believe we are changing the climate have no clue what to do to solve that. One of my favorite questions is to ask, "what can I do about it" and then sit back and listen to the response.

It usually is stuff I have already done or am currently doing, like recycling, weatherproofing my house, etc.

I asked for proof of warming because it's always interesting to see what people come up with. The models are a joke and we seem to be in a holding pattern since 2004 in regards to warming.

This view seems to say that. Continuous average temperature. 2019 is cooling so far and below 2004. Downward trend.

Change.

Change from continuous average temperature.

You can see 2019 has started out under average.

But there is more to the graph. See if anyone knows why.

I'm not sure what you are looking at. What filters are you using? Are you looking at annual global average temperature data?
