"The people of California will not be bowed by the Trump administration's brazen aggression and intimidation tactics,” Pelosi said. “Californians will continue to proudly keep our doors open to the immigrants who make America more American. We will fight this sham lawsuit and will fight all cowardly attacks on our immigrant communities."
Seriously, I just don’t see how Cali can win this in the end. They only own judges so far, then common sense kicks in the SC.

State Sen. Frank Ciccone has filed a bill that would allow internet service providers in Rhode Island to block online porn, requiring residents to pay a $20 fee if they want to access it.
“Everyone knows the internet can be a harmful and dangerous environment for our children,” Ciccone, D-Providence, said in a statement Tuesday. “Our kids now have easy access to materials that no child should be viewing, such as pornography and other highly offensive or disturbing material.”
“The purpose of this legislation is to first and foremost protect our children from viewing websites that could have possible detrimental effects to their psyches and developmental process,” he continued. “And I want to be clear, the intent of this bill is to require that digital blocks on this kind of material be available to parents if they so choose to use it.”
Don't know if this is true but read this earlier tonight. More proof the feds will win.
In 1994 California passed Proposition 187. It was a ballot initiative designed to prohibit illegal aliens from using non-emergency health care, public education, and other services. After voters passed the law by ballot referendum it was challenged in court. The proposition was approved by a margin of 59% to 41%. Three days after the bill's passage, Federal Judge W. Matthew Byrne issued a temporary restraining order against institution of the measure. Judge Mariana Pfaelzer issued a permanent injunction of Proposition 187 in December 1994. Pfaelzer found the law to be unconstitutional on the basis that it infringed on the federal government's exclusive jurisdiction over matters relating to immigration. "California is powerless to enact its own legislative scheme to regulate immigration. It is likewise powerless to enact its own legislative scheme to regulate alien access to public benefits"

I love blurbs like this because it shows clearly how uncritical and facile racism accusations are today.
There is undoubtedly a racial element to this as black quarterbacks have a long history of being perceived as lacking the intellect to run an offense and the grit to be leaders, an offensive and inaccurate stereotype that festered for decades, and still does. The easy comeback to teams asking Jackson to try out at receiver is: Why aren’t teams asking Wyoming quarterback Josh Allen, a 6-5, 233-pound quarterback with upside but holes in his game, to try out at tight end?

Remember Heisman winner Eric Crouch not getting much attention as a QB.

Just 20 years ago Bill Clinton in one of his State of the Union addresses had the position that illegal immigration had a negative impact on the middle class. Now unfettered illegal immigration and open borders are a part of the mainstream Donk party platform.

Yup, Bill was just a liberal Republican back then!

Clinton was right but I bet the Republican Central Valley farmers disagreed.
Coffee Shop in Oakland Refuses to Serve Police Officers
A controversy is brewing at a coffee shop in Oakland, where police officer are not welcome.
The business, called Hasta Muerte Coffee, will not serve officers in uniform and turned away an officer a few weeks ago. The shop is an employee-owned co-op.
Workers at Hasta Muerte did not respond to requests for comment on the policy to refuse service to police officers.
But on the shop’s Instagram account, there's a photo posted with text that reads in Spanish: "Talk to your neighbors, not the police." The post continues about an exchange with a uniformed police officer on Feb. 16, and very clearly it states: "We have a policy of asking police to leave for the physical and emotional safety of our customers and ourselves."

I am betting the response time is going to be a bit slower in the future.

Here's a new message from my kid's school I received this morning.
This message is from Rob Roettger, Superintendent of Cheney Public Schools.
The purpose of this message is not to cause unnecessary panic, but rather to keep our families and community informed in order to avoid misinformation.
Late last night the school district was made aware of a rumor related to a possible threat at Cheney High School. The police department was involved and have determined that the threat does not appear to be credible. The message containing the threat appears to have originated outside of the state of Washington and may be connected to a school in Georgia. The message we received appears to have been spread through social media. For precautionary reasons we will have additional police presence on our high school campus throughout the day. Please know that the safety of our students, staff, and community are of utmost importance to us and that we take each and every rumor and threat seriously. If you have any questions, please contact your child’s school or the district office at 509-559-4502 after 8:00 a.m.
Our school district had a rash of call-in threats last year. The kids were sent outside probably 20 times for threats. Then it stopped as quickly as it started.
