No that would not be the same logic. A person being themselves doesn't hurt or really infringe upon others. Beating a kid or having sex with a minor hurts someone else and infringes upon their rights.

The only person who could be hurt is the person making the decision and it's very libertarian to let people make their own decisions, even minors and even when it hurts them. The person a libertarian might "allow" to infringe upon a minor making that decision is a parent, not the government or elected officials.

In the majority of cases I don't think minors should be undergoing gender reassignment surgery but I'm not a libertarian in the strictest sense.

1. Facts that don't support our agenda don't matter.
2. Hypocrisy is not a constraint to behavior.
3. Shamelessness is a superpower. Can you really argue that the Clinton Foundation, Hillary's email server, Benghazi, Hunter's paintings and foreign "positions" aren't shameful and should have consequences?

Between what the GOP did to whistleblowers under the Trump administration and what's happening now to supposed whistleblowers under this administration, it's a wonder that anyone legitimate will ever step up again. If I found myself working in government and I saw something that wasn't good, even I'd have second thoughts about coming forward and saying something. Almost best to just keep your head down and just collect your paycheck. Or just not work in government in the first place. In that world, then, the only whistleblowers would truly be the politically ambitious or interested. Strange times indeed.

Jordan (and Comer) is presiding over a shitshow witch hunt just like the 1st trump impeachment and Jan 6 Committee were shitshow witch hunts. Doesn't mean there isn't/wasn't some meat to the allegations but the chairs and the participants decided to focus on style over substance.
