So desperate and so anxious to show how thoughtful the paid stooges are
Tom they're just on the payroll and reading the script handed to them

Everybody's got to pick the most comfortable chair to sit in
the head space that suits your disposition

The deniers
(or as you're fond of pointing out)
more correctly the Oil Industry science report believers
vs.
The Alarmists
(which is anybody that believes moving carbon from the ground to the air isn't good camp)

I know it's important for you to be right about this because that's the Republican Stance on it
and it's my job as a Liberal to believe the Alarmists

:jack:
You're funny when you're backpedaling.

Honestly, you should just worry about YOU being right. Even occasionally. It would bolster your position here in other arguments/discussions.

Tom Seriously...
You can pretend the deniers are enlightened alternative thinkers
who have studied the various climatic anomalies
and made an educated thoughtful rebuttal to the scientific community

or

You can just quit the charade...
and admit they're just on the payroll
and say what they're told to say

:coffee:

It doesn't even matter
but it is entertaining to watch
you defend those who don't even bother defending themselves
Everybody already knows... it's not even a thing anymore

I agree. But at some point we need to move past the causal argument and start treating the symptoms.
Why? Why is it an either/or argument? Why can't we look for the cause AND treat the symptoms simultaneously?
I agree but the only problem is that the Alarmists believe they have already identified the cause and want to focus on it while not considering any other possibilities while the Deniers will argue that it is just nature and there is nothing we can do about it so why bother (i.e. spend time, money or inconvenience industry) treating the symptoms. They're both ostriches on opposite sides of the issue/surface with their heads stuck through a hole in the surface complaining about the other side being azzholes. There has to be an editorial cartoon like this somewhere - it almost perfectly represents politics in America today.

Guess I missed out on the gravy train then. Because I agree with them and I'm not getting paid a dime, nor have I seen any script about what I'm supposed to say.

Side question:

Why are the climate change "embracers" universally believed to be doing this all out of the goodness of their hearts?

I mean, surely they aren't in a position to profit from the fundamental change in industrial carbon emission standards, could they?

Of course not. :dunce:

The billions of dollars these scientists have gotten in government grants isn't going to sway their conclusions in any way whatsoever. They aren't on the payroll like those nasty Big Oil paid for anti-scientists. :tothehand:

This ain't the 1950's either, Gramps.

Cigarettes are easily linked to health problems, scientifically, through proven research. All we get from the alarmist government funded climate scientists are flawed ever changing computer models that never meet their projected outcomes when put to the real world test.

But, it's settled science.

He's taken over the roll of T-man in my world
Which for me was an honored position on the forum as "Immovable Object"

Once we get to the name calling phase (Retarded Hippie etc.) the transformation is then complete

It's simply my job to point out your logical fallacies.

Plus, I just really enjoy proving a Havad man wrong. :kisswink:
