I agree. But at some point we need to move past the causal argument and start treating the symptoms.

Why? Why is it an either/or argument? Why can't we look for the cause AND treat the symptoms simultaneously?

I agree but the only problem is that the Alarmists believe they have already identified the cause and want to focus on it while not considering any other possibilities while the Deniers will argue that it is just nature and there is nothing we can do about it so why bother (i.e. spend time, money or inconvenience industry) treating the symptoms. They're both ostriches on opposite sides of the issue/surface with their heads stuck through a hole in the surface complaining about the other side being azzholes. There has to be an editorial cartoon like this somewhere - it almost perfectly represents politics in America today.

The billions of dollars these scientists have gotten in government grants isn't going to sway their conclusions in any way whatsoever. They aren't on the payroll like those nasty Big Oil paid for anti-scientists.
