One thing that I have to shake my head over is hearing/reading about people having their view of Trump improve because of his children. It's "If he has such wonderful children and they think so highly of him he must be a good guy, good father, etc."

First of all, they don't know Trump's children. And what the hell would they expect his children to say?

Secondly, they have had the opportunity to see how Trump acts in public directly.

In that regard, I'd like to see a reporter ask Ivanka Trump:
OK. You say you're proud of your Dad and he's a good guy. So how do you feel about the time he was on Howard Stern and said, "You know, it doesn’t really matter what they write as long as you’ve got a young and beautiful piece of ass?" Does that make you feel proud of your Dad? Or how about when he obviously mocked a guy with cerebral palsy then obviously lied about what he was doing when called don it? Are you proud of that"
If she's going to go out and act like he's just this super guy someone ought to straight up challenge her to defend things like that and say with a straight face that that's the kind of person we want as President of the United States.
Well, I believe that I must tell the truth
And say things as they really are
But if I told the truth and nothing but the truth
Could I ever be a star?

BTW, I have never understood the convention bump thing. I don't deny that it exists. But I just don't get it. Like the whole thing about Trump is supposed to be he's this great manager and the Republican convention was really poorly managed. Everything from the songs played at critical times to a bunch of technical problems with the screens. Nothing unexpected happened. And somehow some people on the margins thought something happened that should change their mind.

What exactly is it that they knew after that convention that they didn't know before that convention? Why these conventions influence people is something I just don't get.

Was it when he said that? In any case, somebody in the media needs to put her on the spot with respect to the things her father has said and done publicly including that comment. Let's see her defend the specific things he's said and done.

Making fun of the palsy guy definitely makes Trump look bad in commercials, but you can't really capture in a 30 second commercial how much of an asshole rubber arms was to Trump to draw that ire. Trump didn't suddenly think, "hey I'm going to mock this funny pretzel body over here just for the hell of it to hurt handicapable people." The guy was anti-Trump and got it the way.

There is a LOT of time until November though, and that favors Trump. Everyone knows that Trump is a dick. They have for 35 years or so. And?

But Julian Assange has only just started the IV drip on the bag of Hillary lies and corruption that he has at his disposal. Get your popcorn ready.
I hope she does get a bump. We'll see. I do not think the Democrats have thrown everything they have at Trump. But it IS a concern that they haven't done better with what they've thrown at him already because what they've thrown at him already has been pretty slick and also has the benefit of being completely true.

The one I'm talking about simply shows video of him saying what he's said and acting like he acted. It's completely true.

And it's not the kind of thing where something he said was taken out of context such that seeing the entire context would change the impression. It is what it is.

It's kind of like the thing he said about McCain's prisoner of war experience. There's no "context" that makes that acceptable.

There is no justification for what he did. If he wants to attack the guy for what he said that's one thing. But what he did was yet another instance of acting like a 10 year old. I can't believe that you seriously want a guy who would act like that, respond like that, to be President of the United States.

Oh, and then there's the matter of him obviously lying about it when he was challenged on it. Saying he didn't know the guy when it was on record that he spent a lot of time with him. You people talk about Hillary lying and that's fine. What in the hell makes you think that Trump, when in office, wouldn't persistently lie about what happened if anything went wrong? He has consistently shown that he will lie and lie and lie and lie. He absoutely will not concede anything no matter how MUCH he has to lie regardless of how OBVIOUS it is that he is lying.

Hillary, as I have written before, is in the minor leagues of lying when it comes to being compared to Trump.

Hey John, here's a commentary for you. It's not just CS's that think the Republican party establishment sh!t the bed and created the circumstances that lead to Trump's nomination.

Trump steps into void left by what Republican Party destroyed
http://www.chicagotribune.com/news/colu ... olumn.html
But Trump knows how things are built, and so he should realize that he’s not all that responsible for the politics that led him — and the nation — to this moment in Cleveland.

Because he didn’t build it.

He simply stepped into the void left by what the Republican corporatist establishment had torn apart.
...
They don’t want to take credit for it, they’ll spin and cajole their way around it, but the Republican establishment is responsible for Trump, and not because they built anything.

Their greed destroyed what they had, by breaking faith with grass-roots voters, year after year after year, until finally all that remained was grass-roots cynicism and exhaustion.

Out of that grew anger, and Trump fed on it.

Now the GOP establishment fears and loathes Trump, and elements of the old Republican coalition flock to the new establishment queen, Democrat Hillary Clinton.

Wall Street sweetens her tongue, the neocons who sat at the feet of Republican kings pushing wars in the Middle East now list toward Hillary, the ruling federal bureaucracy cleaves to her: the regulators, the lawyers and all others who make up the new Clinton economic order.
Good stuff. Kass is a good commentary writer who skewers the powerful regardless of policy

Trump press conference right now = pure gold.

He speaks directly to Russia and says, "I hope you have the 33,000 missing emails that Hillary deleted and I hope you release them." :o

He keeps putting the emphasis on Weiner when talking about Anthony Weiner. Says Huma would tell him all the national secrets and he's a slimeball pervert who would (I guess) tell them to chicks he picks up sending cockshots on SnapChat?

He also says Hillary is lying about TPP and will change course and pass it. I'd say he's right on that.

He says Hillary Clinton should not get security briefs.

Reporters ask him his positions on abortion and some other issues and he says, "look it up, it's all on my website." Hahah. He doesn't want to have to bother remembering all that shit.

Lastly, he challenges Hillary to hold a non-scripted news conference. He has a good point there.

I love this guy.

This should be a bigger deal than is being made, everyone makes fun of Trump for being off the cuff, but weve clearly seen how weak Obama looks when he doesnt have a teleprompter in front of him. And Hillary's flubs (WVa coal miners) when she speaks her mind.

The comment about "look it up on my website" actually makes me believe that Trump is MORE likely to stay on message with his campaign platform once in office. Because he'll have others carry them out for him.

Well, Hilldog has assured us these 30,000 emails are personal communications, and she would never lie about that, so it's probably safe for these emails to fall in the Russian hands. No biggie here. Why are donks all of the sudden concerned about email theft?

Nobody in a "regular" administration would do something that low class to begin with. And nice try on the emotional maturity thing. It's obvious that Trump has emotional maturity problems. And I'm not the only one that has noticed it. References to him acting childish are common. And the reason they're common is because he does act like a child. Noting that he is childish is a natural response to his behavior.

And you people want him sitting in the President's chair. It's just absurd. It may happen. But if it does it's a testament to how foul the United States population has become.

I watched his presser on youtube, thought he handled it well. Didn't scream at reporters, seemed pretty even keeled. Funny to see headlines claiming he encouraged Russia to "hack" to find hilldogs missing 33k emails when he never said such a thing.

Desperation is a stinky cologne, and the leftists reek of it.
