If we had chosen to get the reinfection rate down to a manageable number where track and trace could be effectively used we more than likely wouldn’t be having this discussion. We fucked that up and continue to.
And Fiver’s demonstrates the disregard the right has for educators. It’s a tired, worn out trope. Notice how we don’t see people suggesting that pharmacist consultants, engineers, and mortgage underwriters should be forced to the office where they have all of their resources and can be monitored to make sure they’re working?

Stop chizzying Fake News, because you're wrong on either 260 you're referring to out of GA in the last week.
-It wasn't a school but an overnight summer camp.
-It wasn't 260 staff members. Was 92 staff members and 168 children, total 260.
https://deadline.com/2020/08/georgia-ca ... 203001811/
The other 260 out of GA wasn't a school, but GA's largest school district (181k students). 260 staff members DIDN'T test positive. There were approximately 260 who EITHER tested postive OR were exposed.

What if the 260 in the district who either tested positive or were exposed happened in the middle of the school year? Fiver, you're a voice of reason and experience, what are the possible contingency plans to handle something like that?

Your focus on the absolute accuracy of the information deflects from the more relevant question of what if this happens in the middle of the school year?BDKJMU wrote: ↑Thu Aug 06, 2020 11:09 amWhen someone makes a claim that isn't even close to being right, that's not nitpicking details.UNI88 wrote: ↑Thu Aug 06, 2020 11:06 am

You also do this when the inaccurate details are presented by donks. Why don't you ever call AZ out when he chizzies numbers?

The ENTIRE focus of “experts” recommending sequestering was to flatten the curve to prevent overwhelming hospitals. That was more than accomplished. It’s dipsticks like you two (and lib politicians) who keep moving the goalposts as to what you expect to accomplish prior to reopening the country/schools.

Child deaths are minuscule. Less than .5%. I wouldn't be worried about children dying (I know there are some that have) but I would be more concerned about a child catching it and having a heart condition afterwards.
My nephew is 6 and has a congenital heart defect. He's already had open heart surgery to repair 4 holes in his heart. I worry about him going to school and exacerbating his condition.

And we’re just now starting to see numbers on long term effects which is another reason why the ah fuckit approach isn’t viable yet. Even if herd immunity can be established, what if 20% of those infected suffer months of recovery time before they can work and lost productivity due to ongoing effects over the remainder of their career? Not to mention the medical costs.
