Now that's not much of a an argument. I cannot believe you honestly think that allowing bicyclist to ride against the flow of traffice would increase the risk of accidents. You're just an idiot.

Well, I believe that I must tell the truth

Re: Arrogant Bicycle Douchebags
I think 5 mph for how fast the typical person riding a bike moves is closer then 10 mph. Start paying attention to everyone you see riding a bike for a while and think about it.who the F rides their bike at 5 mph? Hell, I WALK faster than that most times. 10-15 mph would be more accurate for an average. Of course, it'll be slower at times (such as when going up a hill), but can often be quite a bit faster as well.
In any case, regardless of what the "typical" speed is, when you're driving a motor vehicle you are usually going to quickly pass a bicyclist whether they are moving in the same direction as you are or in the opposite direction. If they're moving in the same direction as you are they are not as aware of your position as they would be if they were moving in the opposite direction.

If that were me, you wouldn't be at any party, you'd be at your dentist having your six front teeth replaced from me knocking them out of your head. You are a piss-ant pussy with a big ego and not much to back it up. If you ever see me out riding and take a notion to "clip" me, you better fucking kill me, or you will be sorry.ALPHAGRIZ1 wrote:My biggest gripe about cyclists is when they hit my passengers side mirror. The best part of the whole deal is that I know who the guy is, he works at the hospital in Missoula and attends many parties at my friends house. I never hear a word of what the guys is trying to say, my inner monologue is always "your talking to me and have no idea I clipped you a few years back" "idiot" "your commie lib ass deserved it for voting for Obama" etc.
I love that.
Dear lord... please allow this dangerous combination of hair spary, bat slobber, and D.O.T. four automatic transmission fluid to excite my mind, occupy my spirits, and enrage my body, provoking me to kick any man or woman in the back of the head regardless of what he or she has or has not done unto me. All my Best, Earlie Cuyler.
Re: Arrogant Bicycle Douchebags
So tell me, if a biker riding on the left side of the road going against traffic wishes to take a right turn at an intersection, what are they to do? The biker would not only have to cross against the traffic lane with traffic coming at them, they would have to turn their head backwards (which counters your argument) to look at the traffic coming at them from behind on the right side of the road. Now, let’s consider traffic coming across their path from the left and right. Again, a biker is on the left side of the right wishing to turn right. Now they not only have to worry about crossing traffic coming at them and from behind them, they also have to worry about cars coming from their left wishing to turn right across their path (cars turning to their left shouldn’t be a concern here) and cars coming from their right wishing to turn left across their path (conversely, cars turning to their right shouldn’t be a concern here).JohnStOnge wrote:Now that's not much of a an argument. And how are motorists supposed to handle these situations where they not only have to concern themselves with other motorists coming in 4 directions, they now have to throw out all common sense and instinct and concern themselves with bicyclists riding in patterns completely opposite of motorists?
And now let’s throw in traffic lights. Are we to institute entirely new traffic light patterns to accommodate bikers riding against the flow of traffic?
Have you ever tried riding your bicycle through Washington, D.C. during rush hour? Or even during non rush hour? I have, and I can tell you that your senses have to be firing at 100% the entire time. Now you want to throw in completely opposite traffic patterns for bicyclists and an entirely counterintuitive traffic pattern for motorists. That is just fucking retarded. It might work in your ass backwards town, but it doesn't work anywhere in this country that has a population density 10 times less than here in the DC area.
There is a reason that bikers are required to follow the same laws as motorists, and it is absolutely absurd to suggest otherwise. Seriously, do you even think this kind of thing through? Or do you just think of ways to justify sleeping with 13 year old girls and abusing your pets, but leave any common sense aside? You are, and always have been, absolutely delusional and quite honestly you are simply a frightening person. I’m not going to discuss this with you any further.

As someone who has logged over 40,000 miles on my bikes, I would not want to ride against the flow of traffic. Scary. I do use the blinking red LED light with all my rides now that I have children. Where that light makes me feel safer is out here in Washington where I am constantly going from dark to light areas due to the tree canopies. Also nothing wrong with drawing attention to you.JohnStOnge wrote:I think 5 mph for how fast the typical person riding a bike moves is closer then 10 mph.
