Well, based on his obsession here, it's possible that JSO voted for Hillary once with his regular voter registration, and then used his second voter registration to also vote for Hillary.BDKJMU wrote:So the 2 votes for Clinton were JSO and ??
You won't have to - the entire House is up in '18...hitchinaride wrote:I voted for Hillary. More of a go against the grain here in South Carolina where the right wingers believe America was "ordained by God" as some spiritual leader of the world to get them all to "Evangelical Protestant Heaven" while the rest of us "heathen" can go and burn for all eternity.
While I disdain the victim mentality of the left TEN FOLD, the extreme views of the right are just as annoying. I prefer third parties but both Stein and Johnson are idiots. I could've tolerated Hillary. Trump is just like Obama, another divider. While I do appreciate the cutting of funding for International PP, Trump is not "pro life". Who really is? If you endorse war, you are not pro life either.
God help us. Can't wait to see the circus in 2020.
House elections are boring - there was something like less than 10 competitive races in the 435 races in 2016, so 2018 doesn't seem like it will be any different. It's 240 to 193 in favor of the GOP as it sits today (two seats are vacant) - it won't be until 2020 that there's any chance the House could flip the other way.houndawg wrote:You won't have to - the entire House is up in '18...hitchinaride wrote:I voted for Hillary. Agreed.Pwns wrote:If you voted for any of the top 4 candidates you are a dunderhead.
No shit. I have said much to 89's confusion that I voted for Johnson more to align myself with the libertarian view point than to align myself with Johnson. I have also said many times, I can't call myself a full blown libertarian just that my views point more in that direction and I would love to see the country move that way.kalm wrote:Huh?

Never voted libertarian before in a presidential election, so this seemed like the perfect opportunity.
I voted for Gary Johnson FWIW. I just don't find libertarianism to be a viable economic policy.OL FU wrote:No shit. Nah, my "confusion" was more contempt for people that thought a vote for Johnson was really sticking it to the establishment. I correctly predicted that his vote total would be a drop in the bucket and the LP vote this election would barely be a footnote in history.OL FU wrote:No shit. 4,053,546 votes nationwide. That's a big fucking drop.89Hen wrote:Nah, my "confusion" was more contempt for people that thought a vote for Johnson was really sticking it to the establishment. Florida
Michigan
Pennsylvania
Wisconsin
All four states were Clinton's had she been able to woo the Johnson voters (or had Johnson not been running).
That's 69 electoral college votes, and she's your president.
I saw somewhere that Johnson votes were about 60-40 Dem to Rep. Pretty much every breakdown I have seen since the election had a higher number of disaffected Dems voting Johnson.houndawg wrote:AZGrizFan wrote:

When you think about it, the Libertarian platform easily attracts social liberals who don't necessarily believe in the force of government (which appears to be a larger number than I would have guessed)

It is. And, I was one last election.CID1990 wrote: When you think about it, the Libertarian platform easily attracts social liberals who don't necessarily believe in the force of government (which appears to be a larger number than I would have guessed)
VERY good comparison.Skjellyfetti wrote:It is. And, I was one last election.CID1990 wrote: When you think about it, the Libertarian platform easily attracts social liberals who don't necessarily believe in the force of government (which appears to be a larger number than I would have guessed)
Nanny state / Social justice warriors are a blight to left like the religious right is to the right.
Seems like neither side is ever able to rid themselves of the other.
