You have zero clue how close this country is from tipping into a 3 position civil war.

One of those positions will dominate because MEN own guns.

When the President, Congress, or anyone else acts unconstitutionally... it should be challenged. But, everytime doesn't mean that we are approaching the end times of the good ole US of A.
Warmaking powers are the most unequivocal parts of the Constitution

The ability of the executive to unilaterally commit acts of war will one day be abused

It took about a half hour to launch the 60 missles (one fell into the sea). Apparently they can either regulate the flight speed or make them circle the target because they all hit within 2-3 minutes of each other.
The "loiter" feature is pretty cool. It's incredible what we put into missiles. It's not just fuel and a warhead. There are guidance systems, boosters, camera, return system data, provide target image, etc...
I remember Rumsfield taking about that feature and also remember seeing cruise missiles flyby some reporters covering the war. Personally thought that would be intimidating as hell seeing a cruise missile loiter.

Judging by Skelly's post they might want to refocus on the blowing up part and less on the bells and whistles...
As stated already, tomahawks aren't used to destroy something like an airfield. You send it against a target like a command post or something moving. Different munitions for different targets.

Am it the only that thinks we ought to stop WARNING people we're going to attack? What's the point? Symbolism? Fuck that. It's war and it's messy. If you don't want a surgical strike against your towers, don't launch chemical weapons or murder civilians.

Yeah, however Military experience doesn't equate to military expertise. You think a 15W is an expert in combat engineering?

The title of the article might well be one of the stupidest things I've ever read. Did they really think this "deal" touted by Obama and Kerry meant anything?

The article spells out precisely that Lavrov outmaneuvered the WH but obviously doesn't highlight the conclusion.

In this instance, I'd say a one-hour warning was in order. It has been reported that the Russians had special ops personnel and helicopters at that airfield. Killing a dozen special ops Russians might have kind of pissed off the Russians and made our artillery units around Raqqa and our Ranger unit along the Turkish border juicy targets for the Russians.

It's war. Or at least a preclude to war. Am I the only person here that believes in total war? War is nasty, bloody and horrible. Execute it quickly and bring about a quick and decisive end. We didn't warn the Brits, Union/confederates, Mexicans, Spanish, Germans before attacking. We didn't warn Adolf we're 1 hr from landing in Normandy. This pussy attitude is why we're in a quagmire. If we don't want to hit hit Russians, we don't fire until we know they're clear.

Just my opinion. I'm not going warn you before i punch you in the throat. I'm just going to do it.

We should be OK as long as we keep Putin in the loop and Congress in the dark. Didn't Wesley Clark say that we had seven nations to destabilize and a pipeline that needs to go through Syria? I think it was Wesley Clark. :coffee:

The panic is setting in now that wind and solar are competitive with oil, despite billions in subsidies for the oil companies. Might want to move your money to one of those green funds before Exxon's inventory loses its value. I love the thought that pretty soon oil people won't be getting their calls returned by the politicians they bought and paid for.

For you, Hannity. Imo, you need a little more seasoning before stepping up to Maddow. It could ruin your career to take her on before you're ready, like jerry Cooney taking on Larry Holmes before he was ready
