Of course.
But the smart people know that it is a wasted vote at the top level of government at this time, especially if there is a drastic difference, between the ruling parties, on major issues. The third party must become strong at the State level before it can be a force at the Federal level.
And it must become strong at the local level before it can become a force at the state level..ground up..

The Dems are still suffering from a lack of vision - what policy or goal do they stand for other than to resist Donald Trump? The same issue plagues the progressive movement, which, to some extent, dovetails with the Democratic party. Just saying you want government to provide many things for free (free health care, free education, etc) isn't a viable stand-alone political strategy at this point. And continuing to allow Pelosi to be a figure head for your party doesn't work either. The GOP isn't much better, but they must be doing something right (or at least just a smidge better than the Dems) to have the record of success they have in terms of winning non-Presidential elections since 2009. Trump is a distraction for the Dems - he's his own phenomenon and isn't really of either party. The more the Dems focus on him the more they fail to fill the hole that is their policy statement.

The Repukes have scared a large part of the population. This is the only reason they are victorious. Fear has caused so much suffering throughout History. But we would elect the Devil himself of he said he loves America.

Oh that's bullshit. If the Republicans have scared people...then why aren't the Democrats standing up for what's right and winning elections? Easy...b/c the Democrats have FAILED their base. They've gone hard left and are no longer understood as the Part of Tolerance or Inclusion. From the DNC's rigging the nomination to all the snowflakes on college campuses, they have shown their true colors. The Democrats have nobody to blame but themselves.

Agreed - the GOP hasn't really succeeded but rather it's the Dems failing that has led to such a huge majority of GOP wins both at the federal and even more so state level. When you let your party be led and ruled by the coastal elites as the Dems have, and show as much disdain as they do to anything different (especially different in thought) then the groupthink that dominates, then the results shouldn't be terribly surprising. And it's a pox to both parties that the electorate picked Trump as the President because both parties have failed their bases (although the Dems have failed slightly more than the GOP). And don't give me that crap about Hillary winning the popular vote - we don't select Presidents via the popular vote, and haven't for 200+ years, so it doesn't matter.

Exactly. The Republicans are filling the voids. They are seen as the lesser of two evils. The election of Trump was a referendum on how the electorate feels about establishment politicians. The man admitted to being able to sexually assault women b/c he's rich and HE WON! Trump wasn't the best choice (nor was HRC). Trump was elected to shock the system.

If the Democrats were so awesome and right for American...then why did they have to rig the nomination away from Sanders? Why aren't they winning more across the board? Look at the numbers:

Republicans have total control over 25 states outright and another two where they can override a Democratic governor’s vetoes. These 27 states cover 56 percent of the population. Meanwhile, Democrats have total control outright in a mere six states and veto-proof majorities to override a Republican governor in just two more. These eight Democratic-controlled states add up to only 19 percent of the population, or roughly one-third as much as Republicans control.
https://www.dailykos.com/story/2016/11/ ... -governors

In 2009, Democrats had 58-seat majority in the Senate, 256 seats in the House and 28 governorships. Democrat policies have caused them to lose. Since then they've lost 63 House seats, 10 Senate seats and 12 governorships. That's not necessarily b/c the Republicans are better...but it is how the identity politics and politics in general of Democrats have failed people.

The Democrats need some soul searching. From the election, all we've heard is that Trump colluded ( no evidence) and the Russians hacked emails (which showed us how corrupt the DNC is, but that story never gets airtime on the MSM).

Considering the district - yes. What does the close margin say? Are the Democrats gaining ground? Was the Republican a weak choice but still able to win in a Red district? Obviously, throwing money at the election doesn't work (didn't work for HRC).

The country is getting tired of identity politics.

They try to make people dependent on them by telling people that they've been wronged and that society owes them more than they have.

I don't doubt that one bit. Trump tapped into fears and behaviors, some of which should stay in the minority. But the Democrats need to step up and accept their share of the blame. They allowed Trump to win. Democrats are equally guilty for putting Steve Bannon so close to the Oval Office.

I'm going to say this. It's only white males who can use the double standard and get away with it.
White males: I don't want to be generalized. I did not own any slaves so don't treat me like a devil. But turn around a say, all Muslims are bad or Islam is a bad religion. You can' have it both ways. If Obama would have said Grab her in the Pvssy, he would NEVER EVER been elected as President. AND YOU ALL KNOW THIS TO BE TRUE :coffee:

I don't think it's debatable that if the midterms were this week Republicans would probably get shellacked.

Is should be pointed out that:
1. John Ossoff is what a lot of northeast and west coast Donks would call a "Dino".
2. Karen Handel is a pretty stodgy candidate who won the first election among Republicans with a pretty unimpressive margin.
3. The donks spent an ass-load of money.
4. November 2018 is still a long ways away...the embers from the election and Russia-ghazi will be cold then unless Trump does more stuff to keep them hot.

Oh, that's not true. You aren't being rational. I can say, don't treat me like a devil b/c some white guy 200 yrs ago had slaves. Why? Because I've never owned a slave. I don't buy into white power ideology or the politicians that believe in such crap. But blacks are just as guilty of using the double-standard. You aren't looking at the whole picture.

The minute blacks stop using whites as an excuse is the minute you will see a dramatic improvement in race relations. You don't want to be vilified just because you're black? Then don't vilify me because i'm white. It's quite simple.

Btw, you should really stop generalizing all white men. We aren't the problem. Like many things, the problem rests within oneself.

Find me a living, breathing, white slave owner in the US. I'll wait. :coffee: It's not a double standard if it doesn't apply to you.
In 2008 you could have run the Oprah/Beyonce ticket and won despite the lack of any political experience. The last two Dem candidates were "feel good" candidates - they weren't the best candidates, but they bucked the "old white men" candidates of old and made the Dems feel good about how they were elevating minorities and women into positions of power. It was all about checking their privelege (still struggling with exactly what that is and why we should feel bad about it) and about checking their tolerance boxes. Meanwhile, fringe Muslims are burning European capitals after their governments decided to open their borders in an effort to appear more tolerant. How's that working out for them? :coffee:

I'd say Ossoff did a damn good job considering the district.
And a shytty job, considering that he outspent Handel hugely, with all that Hollywood and New York money.
