The same folks who say they shouldn't even be compared are the same people comparing it to 9/11, Pearl Harbor and the Civil War. No bitter pill needs to be swallowed on this one.

Yes, there was 'misbehavior" but did the Mueller Report provide any proof that the 2016 election was stolen as Hillary and other Dems continue to claim?

There was "misbehavior" (supervisors kicking out observers but continuing to count ballots, mysterious flash drives being inserted into computers, etc.) during the 2020 elections as well.

The "misbehaviors" should be investigated and steps taken to prevent them in the future but a rational person doesn't believe they significantly impacted either election and doesn't believe either election was stolen.

To the Dem's credit they didn't go apeshit and storm the Capitol because of their crazy conspiracy theories but silencing 2020 conspiracists while perpetrating the 2016 conspiracy BS is hypocritical and dishonest.
But they did riot in DC when they lost in '16, and stormed gubmint offices numerous times when they didn't get their way.

You just can't beat, no pun intended, two groups with large white supremacist membership beating the fuck out of each other while Congress cowers under their desks like kids at Parkland.

My life is pretty good, easily better than yours, and the racism lens is quite germane to the capitol riot. Thats why I like to look at the bright side, and what could be brighter than the opposition kicking the fuck out of each other? Maybe a little more gunfire in both directions and a few cars plowing into the crowd. Hell, when you think about it the lefties really blew a golden opportunity - some well-placed Molotov cocktails would have really had them "steppin' and fetchin' like their heads was on fire and their asses was ketchin' " as Charlie Daniels would say. :thumb:

i’ll tell you unequivocally that’s a hard “No”. But then again, people define a “good life” differently, so there’s no winning that discussion (not that it needs “winning”.

What are “voter suppression acts”? Are you referring to election integrity legislation?

Suppression efforts range from the seemingly unobstructive, like strict voter ID laws and cuts to early voting, to mass purges of voter rolls and systemic disenfranchisement. These measures disproportionately impact people of color, students, the elderly, and people with disabilities.
Strict voter ID's? :check:
Cuts to early voting? :check: (Election day should be a national holiday where the ONLY thing done that day is voting)
Purge of Voter Rolls? :check:

How do these disproportionately impact people of color? or students? Or elderly? Or do they just make a blanket statement that we're supposed to believe and take as gospel at face value?

You view election integrity as "voter suppression". You're worried about people who mythically can't vote (because the ability has been somehow taken away), meanwhile states like NY and CA are now allowing hundreds of thousands of undocumented illegal immigrants to vote. Yeah, nothing to see there, right?

I believe the argument is that voter ID disproportionately impacts people of color, students, the elderly, and people with disabilities because they're less likely to drive and don't need or have a driver's license as a result. They would need to take the time and small fee to apply for and get an ID. It might be an inconvenience but hardly suppression.

What about grocery stores, restaurants, etc. on Election Day? Are they forced to be closed?

Voter rolls should definitely be audited and purged occasionally. There have been several elections after I moved where I could have voted multiple times if I was dishonest. Voter ID would help to ensure that individuals were only registered to vote in one location.

I'm fine with early voting but if Election Day were a national holiday, that'd work just as well. We have large populations and the less congestion at the polls the better. We don't need a candidate screaming, " stop counting!" because people are in long lines to vote after voting has "ended."

Or course - we have the technology for online voting and it can be secured so why not do that?

I call BS on that argument (the Demcraps, not yours.) Just b/c you don't have a DL doesn't mean you might not have an ID. If you have no ID, you essentially cannot function in our society. And if we're going to require REAL IDs, then the government should foot the bill and do all in it's power to help those that might have a difficult time getting one. We have voter registration drives every election cycle - how difficult is it to piggy back off of this?

You need an ID for the following. I've bolded those that a low income minority is most likely to do
purchase cigarettes
purchase alcohol
apply for unemployment/a job
pick up a prescription
prove it's your debit/credit card
rent a house/apartment/Section 8 housing

buy a house
apply for welfare
apply for food stamps

board a flight
apply for Medicare / Social Security
buy/rent a car

rent a hotel room,
pay taxes

And Voter Rolls should be purged/updated more frequently. The REAL ID can help verify/track that.
