You know what?

The guy bears watching. He is a liberal and I disagree with him on a number of points.

But he is the ONLY Dem candidate who talks openly about freedom and liberty - not about what we need to coerce or command people to do, but about enhancing personal liberties

I get that a lot of that is lofty platitudes, but he is literally the only candidate saying it and it is the kind of message that will peel off a LOT of normals in the Dem party

Jeff, CID doesn't support or excuse Trump. He does like to point out double standards and hypocrisy and his posts are usually spot on accurate.

People who disagree with you on some points aren't necessarily against you on every point.

No matter how they package it - the desire for a command economy centered on an urban controlled powerful central government.. brought about by the dissolution of the representative republic through direct elections and disarming citizens...

You are damn straight - when a democrat commits the heresy of talking about personal liberties - you had better believe it matters. Buttigieg right now is the only candidate who speaks to the Obama voters who switched to Trump

He is responsible for taking leadership actions to reduce crime within his city...and if you read the article, you can see that crime has continued to grow during his leadership tenure...

I like that. I agree with much of what she says. I too wonder what would've been if some of the other candidates had bowed out and got behind Rubio or Cruz. As much as I loathe the Trump administration, I shutter at the thought of President Cruz.

I think Bernie has a great chance at the nomination but he'll lose. If they didn't exist in 2016, i'm sure there will be associations (memes since our society is inching closer to an Idiocracy) done between him and the USSR or other communist/socialist countries.

I said during the campaign and I say it now: I do see similarities between the Hitler phenomenon and the Trump phenomenon. I've said all along that I don't think what happened with Hitler can happen here. I think our system is too robust. But when I see Trump and the crowds at Trump rallies that does very much remind me of the old videos of Hitler at Hitler rallies. The demagogue and the mind numbed zombies responding to his demagoguery.

Also, I think he is similar in his scapegoating tactics.

But I have always been more concerned about having 40 something percent of the American population respond as Hitler's audiences responded than by Trump himself. The problem is much more with the American population than it is with Trump himself. Fortunately it's not a majority. But it's a darned big minority and it's very disconcerting.

Hitler phenomenon - are you talking about his style of rhetoric and how he convinced people to vote for Nazis? I can see similarities there.


But the comparison to Hitler and Nazis, their actions and style of government, is just 100% dead wrong. And if you aren't willing to educate yourself on Hitler and the NDSAP and objectively look at what's happening in America, then there's nothing that can be said to convince you.

There is no way Obama crowds were mind numbed zombies like Trump crowds are. Anybody who has watched Trump rallies knows that. By "scapegoating" I mean zeroing in on things like illegal immigrants and muslims. With Hitler it was the Jews.

All Obama's said about the economy stuff is that the turnaround occurred during his Administration. And it's the truth. And what has Trump accomplished that Obama said was not possible? I'm guessing it's something like people saying that sustained 3% GDP growth rate was not possible. Maybe it is and maybe it's not. But it hasn't happened under the Trump Administration so I don't know how that relates.

Anyway, what did Obama himself say was not possible that you say has been done?

If you want to look for bullshit you need look no farther than Trump saying the economy was a mess before he took over and now it's turned around and is great. It was not a mess before he took over and it's pretty much the same economy now as it's been for the past 10 years.

Look at JSO, stepping up to the plate. What you don’t know UNDERSTAND about Hitler and Nazism could fill volumes. You may know something but you sure as shit don’t understand it. And to suggest that we are living under a Hitler is just false.

Please show me people being rounded up and forced into ghettos or camps.

Show me the racial purity laws that have been proposed and/or signed into law.

Show me the social programs like Social Security or vast infrastructure programs that have come out of this administration.

Has the GOP usurped government?
