Everyone knows this except Trump.

Edit: Trump just saw the light. Reports are that he has moved his PR stunt until 4pm and will offer some DACA and TSP concessions. If I'm Pelosi, I tell him to open the Government immediately and we'll come to the table. It's time to stop punishing federal employees and contractors over Trump's pipe dream. Also, no way he gets $5.7B. Meet halfway at $3.5B. Dems have all the leverage. Use it.

Trump himself created the DACA/TPS issues; I'd tell Trump trump to F off and let the courts decide. So far, the courts have been on the side of DACA/TPS.

You're right though, let him think this is negotiable after opening the gov't.

Wait

Remind me again who created the dreamers by executive fiat... in circumvention of the INA (i.e.: US LAW)

I knew Trump was responsible for tennis elbow and WWII but I didn’t realize he was also responsible for DACA

SCOTUS punted DACA to (at least) their next term for consideration, if ever.

Below is a video purporting to show wall prototypes that US Special Forces couldn't get over. All other things aside: Is there anybody here that believes that if someone gave some US Special Forces unit a mission whereby they had to get past walls based on any of the prototypes shown in that video that they couldn't get past them?

Sure special forces could get past them if they had access to special forces type equipment. But if you walk up to that wall with everything you can carry you ain’t getting over.

Maybe not "over," but from yesterday (I'll even cite Fox):
Around 30 unaccompanied minors were smuggled into the U.S. after tunneling beneath the border wall near San Luis, Arizona on Monday together with a group of over 300 Central American migrants who then surrendered themselves to the Border Patrol.

The tunnels – a few feet long – were reportedly dug by smugglers under the steel border fence, letting hundreds of supposed asylum seekers enter the U.S, according to the Customs and Border Protection...

...“In my 30 years with the Border Patrol, I have not been part of arresting a group of 376 people,” CBP Yuma Border Sector Chief Anthony Porvaznik told ABC News. “That’s really unheard of.”

Yes, nothing is perfect. That’s why I advocate two short (6’) fences, about 50’ apart, with land mines between them.

One important part of that story is that those people got in then surrendered themselves for asylum. Barriers are not going to stop people from coming here to request asylum. I think barriers impede things some. You build some barriers and at first maybe it causes people to cross somewhere else. Then when you build enough barriers so that is not easy enough maybe they tunnel in or climb over. So on and so forth. It's not going to solve the problem. And as we know there are people who are qualified to comment who say that if you have X dollars spending those dollars on things other than barriers would have more impact on reducing numbers than spending them on barriers would. I don't know. But I can see that it's not a clear slam dunk certainty the what Trump wants to do is the best option. And I know the majority of US citizens overall as well as the majority of US citizens who live in the immediate vicinity of the border are opposed to what Trump wants to do.

We shouldn't even be having this discussion unless and until Trump and other people who want to do what he wants to do increase public support for it. You've got Trump and the Republicans trying to force the wall thing upon the people who actually live there and don't want it when the majority of the rest of the People in the country don't want it either.

Why can't Trump admit that the vast majority of drugs coming across the border are coming through legal ports of entry? You have to be honest before you can be negotiated with in good faith.

So:

Still wants full $5.7 billion for wall
Only a three year extension on DACA protection
Won't reopen the Government
Not one, single, word of concern for 800,000 civilian and 43,000 military families suffering -unreal :ohno:

That's really weak. I can see why the Democrats rejected that before he blathered on.

Yes. I don't know why he did that heroin thing again when the problem with it has been so widely reported.

Meanwhile Ann Coulter reportedly doesn't like his proposal.

That’s about 1/700th a 4.1 trillion fed budget (2018). Drop in the bucket.

No. The House has passed a budget. Trump and McConnell won't consider it until they get ransom.
