That's pretty funny...using a politician's name and "integrity" in the same sentence....CID1990 wrote: ↑Sun Jun 07, 2020 7:31 pm¯\_(ツ)_/¯ yeah I forgot about that oneSeattleGriz wrote:

Honestly, I like Mitt. He’s a big government Republican but in terms of integrity he’s the best candidate we’re seen from either party since GHWB.

Odd, dude gets out and goes directly to the cops. Could have been a massacre with both the car and gun.

Here's an interesting podcast about police unions/contracts and some of the things going on.
https://www.npr.org/2020/06/05/87129816 ... e-violence 13 minutes long
CID has mentioned the unions several times (as have a few other posts) in this thread. This explains some of what he's talking about (or at least I assume so - don't want to put words in your mouth).

Holy cow. White Latino just like the guy who shot Trayvon. Leave it up to Talcolm X to sleuth the truth.
By the way, my previous comment was directed at the dumbass attacking the driver. Can't believe I live that close to so many dumb shits.

Re: Here We Go Again (Minneapolis, MN)
They are the singular reason these cops are still cops. God it must be a hell of a dichotomy for a liberal these days....unions? Or defunding the police....what a conundrum!

Actually, it’s not at all.
BiL is an Undersheriff who’s relayed his frustrations. The Police Guild protects shitty cops and props up an air of insubordination.
Reducing funding, increasing employment requirements, and/or defunding the militarization of local LE are ideas worth exploring.

Where are the cops to arrest all these criminals?
https://jalopnik.com/videos-show-minnea ... 1843956907Videos from a May 31 Black Lives Matter protest in Minneapolis, Minnesota show police officers wearing heavy tactical gear slashing the tires of multiple parked vehicles, with some officers allegedly targeting members of the media...
...These acts of petty vandalism by the police obviously didn’t just impact protesters, though. At the time, many medical workers and members of the press covering the protest returned to their car on the street or their rental car in a lot to find all four wheels flat.

Re: Here We Go Again (Minneapolis, MN)
Ah ha!
Therein lies the rub!
One political party has benefitted from and stroked public employee unions since time immemorial (hint: not the GOP)
I touched on this before but I’ll be a little more clear now: you dont break police unions only... breaking them requires i introducing laws that prohibit them (we call them right to work laws down heah).
You either break them all (police, teachers, garbage collectors, fire, EMT) or you break none of them
And who is the leadership in the vast number of these jurisdictions?

Re: Here We Go Again (Minneapolis, MN)
I know there is a bigger a problem but teachers, garbage collectors, fire fighters, and EMTs aren't killing people and protecting bad actors just because they are in the same line of work. They also don't have the authority that police do.CID1990 wrote: ↑Mon Jun 08, 2020 7:19 pmAh ha!Vidav wrote:

I know I am being naive but I am asking this genuinely, why can't we at least start with breaking the police unions as they are the biggest problem? Does it all have to be laws prohibiting unions or can something be done specifically about police?
